Lovely location but ?

This was our last second last stop off following a beautiful holiday around the Hebrides and the north coast of Scotland. On arrival, which is accessed by the beaches public car park, we moved in towards the gates to check in as there appeared to be no other vans waiting. When we approached the barrier we noticed that you had to stay behind the yellow road line until 1pm so we pulled to the side to access the water fill for our motorhome. At this point we noticed a annoyed caravan owner pulling out in the car park and blocking the road, it became obvious to us that he was waiting in the public car park to check in. This was not a problem as we were in the water filling area and not blocking access. At this the warden approached us asking whether we were leaving or arriving, to which it was perfectly obviously to the direction we were facing. He asked where we were in the queue and I stated I had been unaware that there had been a queue but pointed to the caravan owner who had blocked the car park and informed him that he must have been first. We got a dressing down stating we should not have entered through the gates, although there was no sign stating this. I pointed out that our intention was not to skip the queue but to fill our tank to prevent one as other vans were now entering the car park. Not a good start to our visit, the warden was very snappy and I feel instructions as to procedure of check in should be on the entrance gate and not within the park gates as at this point it is too late. I am aware that it must be stressful when the site is very busy but we were being cooperative and admitted our misunderstanding and allowed the caravan owner in first. Very petty I think especially when we are all guaranteed a pitch 🙁 Other than that, a nice site despite the road noice which could be intrusive .Beach was lovely but unfortunately there was a horrid brown scum on the beach when we were there at parts so this did spoil it somewhat. Facilities clean and social distancing measures in place as at all caravan club sites. Nice site but clearer check in instructions should be on the entrance gate in the car park as it could cause confusion.
