Fantastic Stay

I've just had a night here and it's been one of the best stays I've experienced. I had the warmest of welcomes and was given loads of information on the bus routes and fares. After pitching my caravan I took their advice and took the 10 min walk to the bus stop (number 27) and I paid £4 for a day ticket. The bus dropped me in George 4th Street and from there I had a really good walk around the city centre and stretched my calves walking up to the summit of Arthur's Seat. The site was superb, very well maintained, clean and the wash rooms were clean and warm. In the morning I went for another walk, this time turning left from the site and walking along the water front to Cramond Island. If you want walk to the island, which you can do at low tide, there are notices everywhere showing the times of the tide, sadly, I had missed the tide, so, couldn't get to the island. This site is definitely on my list of "must return" sites. Well done folks, see you again in the future.

I agree this is a great site.  Can I recommend next time you take the No 16 bus to the city centre.  It travels through the bustling port of Leith and is a great journey offering views of the (former) Royal Yacht, Britannia and some really beautiful old buildings along the way.  This service then continues down Princes St and on to Morningside, a lovely area for cafes and shopping with a more relaxed feel than the city centre. The £4 all day ticket you mentioned also includes the trams too and is fabulous value.  We jump on any bus when we need a rest from walking and do round trips back to where we boarded.  Great fun as practically every bus is a double decker and makes for fab sightseeing from the top deck.  Happy travels!
