Very Enjoyable Stay
We stayed for a week in August and thoroughly enjoyed being on site. It is very well maintained with wonderful views. As all the grass pitches had been closed off the site capacity was only at about 40% during our stay, which made for a very comfortable access to the facilities! It was also a relief to have decent up to date facilities - not a stool in sight - rather than some of the dubious ones we have experienced with the Club this year.
Couple of negatives - the tv bollard was broken due, we were told, to a storm the previous week. However no attempt was made to repair it during our stay. The road noise is quite constant and therefore if you want to stay on the higher levels be prepared for that. However the views do tend to compensate.
The area has lovely places to explore, but you do need to drive for about half hour along very windy roads to get anywhere. Tarr Steps, Dunster Castle, Porlock Weir, Porlock Hill, Oare (Lorna Doone story), Dunkery Beacon.
We will definitely return to this lovely area.
