On arrival, reception was closed but I was greeted by a very friendly older chap who lives on-site. This was as good as it got. From there, it was all very poor. After setting up and, within minutes, having my unit MASSED in thunderflies, I went to reception and asked if an alternative pitch was available. The woman now on reception (dyed-blonde hair, unsure of name) was the most unhelpful, unfriendly and belligerent individual I have ever met in many years of travels. "This is a farm in Norfolk - what do you expect ?" was the response. Well, 1) it's advertised as a racecourse and not a farm and 2) I lived in Norfolk for many years and never encountered thunderflies. They are everywhere and are so small that they appear in all places despite netting, screens etc. It was even suggested that, because I have such a large unit, I couldn't help but attract them ! Like a previous reviewer, I was pitched along the bank of conifers and was greeted every morning from 4.00am from the cacophony of rooks flying around the trees above. Incessant and extremely loud noise, repeated every evening between 6.00 and 8.00pm. Facilities are cleaned every day but are very tired looking and always full of webs and insects. Although the location is very good for exploring the North Norfolk coast and other towns and villages in the area, you must factor in all of the negatives above and weigh up whether it's worth looking at an alternative site. I certainly wouldn't visit here again and, from looking at a site a third full for a fortnight in early August, it would appear a lot of people have felt the same. Book elsewhere.
