Lovely site

Have just spend a few nights betwixt Christmas and new year, lovely site we went for location rather than the fishing and lovely to walk around the lakes. Weather was perfect wintery, dry bright cold and frosty, very picturesque. Super site very clean and well organised. All pitched hardstanding and fully serviced, showers were good though it didnt feel like there wasnt any heating, but water in showers hot, though trickled a bit, it made a nice change to have music while you washed! Would have liked the reception to be opened for a couple of hours during the day, though the owners did say they were around and to phone if need anything, but felt it was imposing during the holiday period, however having said that it's advertised as fully open all year. Don't let this put you off though it's a lovely adult only site. Will definitely be returning.

Peaceful

Spent three nights at Fields End Water in December and was surprised to be the only camper bar one! Super site very clean and well organised. Showers were great and it made a nice change to have music while you washed! Did a couple of days fishing meet a couple of locals who were kind enough to give some advice on tactics. Unfortunately it is what I would call a 'mass produced fishery'. the fish respond well to artificial baits such as boilies and pellets to the detriment of natural baits. But it was fun never the less and I will return.

FIELDS END WATER

JUST RETURNED FROM 4 DAYS AT FIELDS END WATER. CAN NOT FAULT ANYTHING, FROM THE WELCOME WE GOT AS WE SIGNED IN ,TO THE FANTASTIC SHOWERS, AND FOR ME, THE BONUS OF HAVING FISHING LAKES. WE EVEN HAD GOOD WEATHER, ALTHOUGH THE HARD STANDINGS ARE GOOD FOR ANYTHING THE WINTER CAN THROW AT YOU ! VERY WELL PLACED TO VISIT PLACES, WE WENT TO MARCH AND DOWNHAM MARKET, WITH A VISIT TO UPWELL CHURCH. WE FOUND IT WELL SITED FOR THE A1. MUST VISIT AGAIN IN THE SUMMER MONTHS.

Peace and quiet

Just spent 5 lovely days at Fields End. What a fantastic site. Peace and quiet and a 5 star toilet block. Very large pitches and very friendly owners and they are there if you need them. (Same cannot be said for all C C Wardens) Great site and thanks for everything.

See you again next year!!

Peaceful

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Fields End , we used it as a base for the Ely Cathedral Craft event. Lovely maintained site, pitches very generous and surroundings kept neat and tidy. Shower blocks were great. Only downside no site shop available or wardens during the winter month apart from the ringing of a bell. Will definatley return in the summer.

Great stay

Had a lovely two night stay, site very tidy and well kept. Large pitch was an added bonus as it took my awning very nicely. Went for the location and not the fishing but the lakes looked nice. Plenty of areas nearby to walk the dogs, and the enclosed dog paddock for letting the dogs run free was an added bonus. Only down side was the noise from the motto x circuit nearby for most of Saturday, but if you are out and about its ok. As always staff very helpful and friendly, would happily go back.

Another lovely visit

Just returned from another great visit to Fields End. Charlie and all his Angels make visits to this site extremely pleasant - they work hard at maintaining the site and always find time for all the visitors. The area is smashing, the fishing is terrific and fun and we always enjoy our visits. The local chip shop is good and there are some great restaurants in March. It is one of the best caravan sites that we have visited - we will be back.

Quiet (most of the time), tidy and flexible

We stayed Friday to Sunday and were able to extend our stay till 5pm on Sunday for a leisurely pack up. I arranged the add on time whilst chatting to the site owner beside the lake, he did the booking on the phone which was impressive. The fishing was good, the fenced off dog run was a blessing for our energetic spaniel. We had some friends arrive in their van and they were able to get their allocated pitch moved so they were next to us, its the first site we have been to where pitches are allocated, though we are fairly new to caravanning. Its a shame no pitches (as far a s we could see) overlook the lakes. I took off a star for peace and quiet as there is a Motorcycle track close by and they were constantly droning away on Saturday, but all quiet on Friday and Sunday, just thought I would mention it. We had a fully serviced pitch, but the tap was too far away and the wrong side for our van to be able to use water hookup, so reverted back to hauling the barrel (we could have bought more pipe from the on site shop though). All in all a relaxed, clean and flexible site thats unobtrusively managed.

Simply beautiful

Our second time here and we love the place, the peace and tranquility are second to none. The pitches are very well spaced and a good size, the toilet/bathroom/laundry facilities are immaculate and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. A fenced in off lead dog exercise area has recently been added and the walk to the pub at Doddington across the fields on the public footpath is excellent. We haven't tried the fishing yet but will when we visit again with friends, one of which is a keen fisherman and is willing to show me the ropes. The site is easy to find and is within easy reach of March and Chatteris for shopping.

Soooo peaceful

This was our first visit and we were certainly not disappointed!  The serviced hardstanding pitches are generously sized, and it's quite unique the way grass pitches and hard stands have been arranged next to each other. The setting is quite and peaceful with lovely walks for adults and dogs. My only concern would be whether the toilet and shower block would be sufficient when the site was more full. Textbook welcome at Reception, and the details leaflet emphasises all the things you are welcome to do, rather than listing what you can't. We shall certainly go back!
