Good for families

lovely level site

First time to the Gower Peninsular, so first time at this site. Its a lovely, quiet, level site. Good enclosed dog walk just off the site and also a large dog friendly playing field accessed from the site, through a locked gate (key attached to barrier key) which takes you to a garage and Tesco express. Fish & chips can be ordered from the reception area and collected at 6pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. There a couple of nice pubs, for food, within about 5 minutes drive from the site. The Rake and Riddle is particularly nice, especially for families. The site facilities were clean. However from our pitch, at the far end of the site, the facilities block is a long way away. There is only one facilities block, with just 5 showers. This is on a site that has 128 touring pitches. There was a smaller block, immediately adjoining the main one, but as the doors were kept locked I have no idea what was in there. Luckily we do not stay at peak times, but on the Saturday that we were leaving (BH) the site was busy, with an inevitable queue for the showers. You need to be up early to be beat the queue and the cleaning lady who arrives at 10.20am that advises you to finish off. The site is accessed via a narrowish lane, over a narrow bridge. Units arrived and were checked in well in advance of the 12 noon booking in time, which could cause a problem if two units meet at the bridge. Luckily the weather was extremely kind, dry sunny weather every day. There are some lovely dog friendly beaches all within 30 minutes drive from the site. Oxwich Bay is a must. There is a breathtaking view of Rhossilli Bay as you walk along to cliff tops to the old coastguard look out building, the walk down to beach is not too bad but you need to be quite fit for the walk back up!
