We had originally booked the Glenmore Site but it did not reopen (shame on them) and we were fortunate enough to get the last pitch at Grantown. To be honest we weren’t expecting much, we were just glad to be away in the caravan.
From start to finish our dealing with and stay on this site was absolutely brilliant. When we booked by phone, Michael was so helpful and informative and that continued with all of the staff during our stay. They simply could not do enough for us, including Michael expertly guiding me on to the pitch, which was in an awkward place to reverse into.
We were a little worried about being right next to the play park, but apart from one noisy early morning (kids belonging to people packing up to leave no doubt), it was not a problem at all.
The site is in a beautiful location, right next to walking and cycling trails and only a few hundred yards from the centre of Grantown. I have been to Grantown before and wasn’t impressed, but this time I found it a lovely and endearing little town.
The site is spotless and really well laid out. The toilet/shower block is simply the best we’ve ever experienced in more than 20 years of caravanning, hygienically clean, constant hot water (no push button showers here) and totally enclosed individual showers and wash basins.
We had a brilliant holiday and this site contributed massively towards it. We had intended to go back to Glenmore next year but have now decided to re-book at Grantown, it’s an extra 30 mins on a 7.5 hour journey, but definitely worth it.
..... oh, and the food from the take away van which visits regularly is also really excellent.
