Site Charges.

I booked for 1 person and dog. Last minute change this became 2 adults, no dog, I was surprised to be charged an extra £2 on arrival but it is in the tariff list. I tend to use my own onboard facilities and I'm beginning to find site charges in some places such as this, which also seem to increase year on year, a bit steep, I wonder if anyone else agrees that £31 per night is too much? TV reception was unusable at my stance and no internet. Otherwise I found site attractive, clean, quiet with friendly if obviously very busy reception.

Grear for families but not peaceful!

We stayed here for 3 nights on the return leg of our recent epic journey north from the Midlands to Orkney staying at caravan club sites a long the way. This was a lovely site to stay at in an excellent location with great facilities. Very busy and lots of kids but that was perfect for us! Pitches were great as you would expect and wardens friendly. We even got personally shown to our pitch! The location really made it. A short walk into Grantown with all the facilities you'd expect. I'd recommend booking a table if you want to eat out as even at 6.30pm on a week night we struggled to get a table for 6! On site the facilities are good, could be cleaner, but was very busy when we were there. Great kids play park. Fab location for exploring the local sights.

Like this site but never again in the school holidays

This is the third time we have stayed at this site and as usual we booked a super pitch. We agree with the comments of the previous review in that the site seems to be divided into two parts. The upper levels behind reception are peaceful and quiet, the lower levels in front of reception are not due to their proximity to the childrens play area. The first two occasions we have stayed we were on the upper levels and admittedly it wasn't the middle of the school holidays, this time we were slap bang in the middle of the families. Constant noise and screaming all day and evening, children riding bikes around the roads, up and down the grassy mounds. Some were even messing around the chemical disposal point, spraying the hose everywhere. Maybe this was the only super pitch available at the time of booking (3 weeks before arrival), maybe I should have asked for the upper levels, but I would have thought a motorhome and two adults plus dog and no children would have given a clue that we would prefer not to be in the family area. We will visit again but next time I shall be specific about the location on the site that we would prefer, perhaps they should consider and adults only section. We will also try to avoid school holidays.

Good for families, not a quiet site

First visit here based on recommendations of friends. Will leave with mIxed feelings. Good - Large corner pitch fully serviced with tv package and best WiFi I’ve ever encountered. Awesome helpful and friendly wardens, facilities and grounds spotless. Room to improve - could do with road markings to improve traffic flow, recycling only at entrance despite general waste all round site. Some noise from next door building site. Bad - Site is effectively split it two. Top half quiet bottom half noisy. Bad facility planning means tenters shortcut through van pitches to toilets and kids park, adults and kids alike, despite warnings from wardens. Silver pitches suffer particularly bad. Earth mounds between areas used by kids as a park with bikes scooters etc coming down them between cars and awnings. Speed of adults and kids on bikes very dangerous. General - some families let kids run riot till 11pm and encouraged encroaching on pitches despite repeated requests and warnings from wardens, toilets awash with water from same, contrast with families who picked all traces of water balloons post battle.

Excellent!

A really lovely site. Very welcoming, escorted to our pitch, they had realised we were a couple so moved us away from the kids play area (not that we would have minded!) very helpful and friendly wardens, often out on patrol, . Great facilities lovely views super WiFi and a few minutes from town . And so well maintained. What’s not to like!

Everything you could ask for....without asking!

Outstanding. Warm welcome when you arrive. They take you to your site and help you back in if you are alone. The site and entire park is immaculate. Not a single piece of paper on the ground anywhere. WiFi....excellent...they spent 100k on repeaters everywhere. Your TV reception poor?? No problem...they give you connection to their satellite dishes. Large garbage bins and fire extinguishers everywhere. Good water and electrics. Quiet park in an ideal location. Easy walk to town or Spey River. Many many forest walks or old rail line walks. Play area for kids. Wardens friendly. AAAAAAAA+

Well laid out site...

We stayed for 4 days for a wedding in the area combined with some sightseeing. There are great views of the Ochil Hills, the site is well laid out with large level terraced pitches that are arranged so they are not in long rows, which gives the pitches a more secluded feel. There are plenty of service points so you don't have to go too far to get water etc. Although we used our own bathroom facilities I did look into the toilet and shower block and it was immaculately clean and warm. There is a children's play area which our grandchildren would love. The site roads and pitches are all gravel which is well maintained and despite the fact that we were there in November the site looked well cared for and 'loved'. We did not notice any traffic noise and the site was very quiet at night, however it was out of season and not too many visitors were resident. There is lots to see and do in the area, the library and gallery in Dunfermline is well worth a visit and is FREE to enter. If you are interested in Art Deco then a trip down Largo Road, Leven, Fife (about 30 miles away) is well worth driving down to see the fabulous Art Deco houses (private and not open to the public). Site staff were friendly and helpful. This affiliated site is a credit to the CMC network. We will certainly return.

A Great place to stay.

We stayed here for two nights while touring Scotland, lots of things to do and great walks nearby. A great site with immaculate Shower and Toilet Blocks, probably the best I have encountered? Free WiFi and Tv signal was great on my pitch. A little more expensive then other sites, but you get what you pay for right? Nice play park for kids and local shops and restaurants just a short walk away!

Disappointed - not what I expected from a club affiliated site

We had used this site previously with no issues so decided to rebook so we could visit friends who stayed in the area. We booked in March and requested a super pitch away from the play park as we did not have children and we were looking for a quiet and relaxing week. On arrival, the reception seemed to be surprised that we wanted a pitch away from the play park, despite it being on the booking form. They were apparently unable to give us an alternative pitch. We were given Blue 14. On setting up it quickly became obvious that the area we were in was used as the direct route between the camping field and the toilet block as well as the play park. Several children were using nearby pitches as a short cut. On day 2 a large family moved in next to us (5 adults and 3 kids) who liked to drink and talk loudly every night. Their youngest child also liked to play with the water feed for our van. That same night our electric feed tripped twice within an hour which we reported. After initially trying to say it must be our van (no issues elsewhere), they had the system checked with no fault found. We were out of the van the next night, with only the fridge switched on, and it tripped again. The next day it tripped another twice. This was Sunday, so I reported it again to the office, but they said initially they couldn't do anything as it was Sunday and also refused to give any refund if we decided to leave. I was so disgusted I walked out of the office. A few minutes later a member of staff attended at our van to say an electrician was coming out but would be much later in the day. We were offered a free day and to move pitch to one right next to the play park.....This information was changed a short time later, and the power system was repaired - proving it was their system and not our van. At no time have staff recontacted us to confirm that everything with the electric was fixed. The noise from the play park continued past closure time on several nights despite the rules about times and noise levels. No 2 pitches appear to be the same size, and waste points are in different places in each pitch which can cause issues if you do not have a long enough waste pipe. This site is now very commercialised with large camping area, as well as numerous statics and lodges, and doesn't fit with the other affiliated caravan and Motorhome club sites. We will not be returning to this site. In our opinion, this site does not deserve to be affiliated to the club, as no apparent saving in pitch fees, and they not advertise the club. The staff are not as friendly and helpful as I have had on other club sites or on previous visits to this site. Definitely going downhill.

Lovely site

Nice friendly welcome from the wardens, and shown to our pitch with a full explanation of the facilities. Lovely site, spacious pitches, nice clean toilet block. Good location for visiting the Cairngorms and surrounding area. Grantown is a nice village and a nice walk into the village from the site. There was quite a lot of noise from the children's play area which was going on till nearly 11 pm one evening - not sure about the no noise after 8 pm rule!
