Pease with Steam

One of the best sites to visit the wardens Trevor and Clare help in a big way for a great stay, always there to help and have great nollige off the area.  If you love steam trains you can not be in a better  location Harmans cross is just a short walk away the trains will stop there you can pay on the train or buy tickets from the site. There great walks to either Corf Castle or Swanage. We love the site and location.

PEACEFUL

This is the site for peace and quiet.  Even the children were well behaved!  Trevor and Clare certainly keep an excellent site.  Spotless facilities, helpful, cheerful and ready to help in any way. It is well situated for trips to all the tourist spots. If you are a steam train buff, just down the road is Harmans Cross station. If you are a 'Twitcher', plenty of bird life too.  Not surprisingly the biggest problem with the site is  -  it is very popular! -      Book early.  We will definitely be back again.

Haycraft

Lovely tiered site set in its own enclave. Access to a Steam Railway and buses (after a good steep uphill walk) that take you into Swanage or Wareham. Peace and quiet, if this is what you want, then you certainly get it at this site. No hustle and bustle, genuinely friendly wardens (Husband and Wife) who work hard to keep this site spick and span. Access road can be a bit daunting as it becomes very steep and narrow, but does have passing places. Not a lot to do around the site and everything is a good walk to get to. Not a problem if you're towing, you can use your car, but can be if you've arrived in a motorhome and don't want to move it to just nip to the pub or shop. Finally, very dog friendly, with a good sized dedicated field and plenty of walks nearby. One word of caution "Beware of the Man-Eating Jack" that lives in an adjacent farm he'll lick you to death given half a chance.......

Great holiday

This site is in perfect location between Corfe Castle and Swanage, it has good access. The site wardens were very helpful on arrival and throughout the stay. There is a good choice of grass or hard stand pitches available, but be warned this site is popular. There is superb walks available from the site and good access to nearby Corfe, Kingston and Langton Matravers. A kids play area on site would have been beneficial, but there is one just 1/2 mile down the road. We will be back.

Woodpeckers on the feeders

This is a very pleasant site, not too large or too small, surrounded by lovely Dorset farmland and thick woodland,a must for bird lovers.Plenty of walks with views or if you prefer, a 2 mile traffic free drive to the beach.Nearby lots of attractions including Tank museum,Swanage heritage railway,RSPB site at Arne.Trevor and Claire are the regular wardens and keep the site in pristine condition,oh and if you hang up a peanut bird feeder you will get a male and female greater spotted woodpecker feeding. Brilliant.

Quiet peaceful location

Good site in a lovely location, good dog walking area, very clean facilities however the size of the shower cubicles let it down - not enough hooks to hang clothes and just a small stool to keep them off a wet floor.  Good site for couples, but with no playground, not so good for families with smaller children.

Excellent!

Just returned from a few days here (June 21st to 26th 2016). Really nice site that is kept in first class condition. Staff helpful and friendly. Great location for visiting Swanage, Corfe Castle Lullworth Cove etc. Appears to be a good area for walking and dog friendly site and local pubs. Keith and Shelagh.

Peaceful Site

We had a lovely week on this peaceful site with friendly, helpful Wardens and nice people around us. The site is easy to find although approach rather narrow, will certainly visit again. It is in a good location to reach many places of interest and not too far from the coast.
