Summer fun at the seaside

Ideally located for exploring the coast - this site is everything you would expect from a club site. Nice hard standing pitches with grassy sections between in pitch so you don't feel like you are in a car park. Good toliet block. The wardens had set up a treasurehunt for the children that they particularly enjoyed (3&5). Highly recommended visiting Kimmeridge and 'doing' the rock pools.

A lovely site with good walks

We didn't have to travel far to stay at Hunters Moon but we felt like we were in a different world. This is a lovely clean site with well maintained pitches & facilities. The site has its own access gate to Wareham Forrest & the walk into Wareham, although a little overgrown in places, is well worth it. Just don't forget to get the access number from reception.

Another great stay

This was our second visit this year and a fantastic time had by us and our 3 small children, the area is superb to visit and the site is peaceful and safe for the kids, the only downside on location is that you need the car to get anywhere as the local pub - walkable - doesn't welcome kids and the road is very busy and doesn't feel safe to take the kids on either walking or cycling. The wardens do a great job and everyone enjoyed the children's fun day. Toilet blocks well maintained.

Great site for 3rd year running

All been said before. This is a great site and so safe for children. A smashing play area where our grandchildren met lots of new friends. Wardens are helpful and are there to advise on all things eg where to go etc. we love this site and when we asked the girls where they wanted to go this year straight away the response was Hunters Moon. Well done all for another great holiday at Hunters Moon.

Holiday 2015

Stayed here before off-season and on the strength of this, booked for 14 nights as the location of our 2015 summer holiday.  No issues with the Wardens who were their usual helpful and friendly self, but I have to say in my view the facilities are inadequate for the number of pitches (it was full during our first week and nearly full for our second) and as a result, a queue formed to use the washrooms.  Don't know if it was because of the use that they were getting, but the smaller of the two blocks had a persistent bad drain smell late afternoon despite the attentions of the site staff in giving it a good clean during the morning closed period; because of this, I used my vans shower in preference. Otherwise, the site was excellent. it is conveniently situated for visits to the Purbeck Peninsula (Swanage, Studland beaches and Corfe Castle), and more wider afield to Kingston Lacy and Weymouth.  One visit we did that I would highly recommend was to Brownsea Island - allow a full day, take a bag of shelled peanuts and your camera and the delightful red squirrels will soon come to you - but a dry day is a must for this as shelter is somewhat limited if wet. For families, there is a small play area at the corner of the grassed pitches, and a fairly large dog walk for those needing to exercise their pet. Access is by means of a controlled barrier, but this adds rather than detracts from the feeling of security on site. Overall, I have reduced my rating because of the washroom issue but notwithstanding this, I would visit again.

Excellent site

Just returned from this lovely site after 10 days.. very clean toilets / showers the site was always full and never had to queue. Great facilities for children .. clean and tidy.. very good position to explore the Dorset coast ??.. will definitely return and it seemed that speaking to other people on site it is popular year after year... staff friendly and hard working.

Over night stay

Made a last minute booking with this site and was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was despite being in peak season. The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating, and I have to say the shower and toilet blocks were immaculate! Definitely worth a visit!

First Class Site

Our first visit and we shall return again.  Excellent staff and first class facilities kept in fabulous order. Ideal location from which to travel to Bournemouth, Poole, Boscombe, Weymouth, Swanage, etc. and to explore beautiful countryside and superb beaches. Nearby Wareham well worth a visit and would recommend walking the walls. Congratulations to the site staff - thank you for your untiring efforts that ensured everything was spot on notwithstanding the site was full most days!

Ouch ! Those hard standings !!!!

Very nice site and very friendly staff , facilities in good condition and kept clean whilst we we there. My only criticism is the hard standing material / aggregate that is used is so difficult to hammer any sort of  ( heavy duty I might add  ) awning peg in that I am considering not returning just for this reason. I can understand that these areas must stand up to the rigours of continual use but the size and compaction of the aggregate was causing a great deal of concern for quite a few of the members I spoke to as they observed my thwarted efforts to insert various types of pegs into it . Please CC ,have a rethink into the size of aggregate you use to replenish  " Hard " Standings or I and others may have a rethink about renewing our membership!! .

Perfect for exploring

A great quiet site with good facilities. We found the dog walk to be a really good size and secure. Staying on the grass means a trek up a slope to fetch water from either toilet block. The grassed area needs a standpipe and dustbin and waste water disposal.  The grassed area is also very short of lighting and a torch is definitely required after dark.  The male wardens were very friendly and helpful. However one of the female wardens didn't give you the time of day when booking you in or when handing your key in. It felt like we were an inconvenience to her. Customer service training required
