Hunter Moon Sept 2019

Hunters Moon is an excellent site at any time of the year for families with children or for the solo caravanner. The wardens ensure that the facilities and the site itself are always clean. If you are coming to the site from the Wareham roundabout TAKE CARE, the road passes the edge of the forest and is hilly and is nominally 50 MPH. However, there are, as always, drivers who think that this type of road is a chance for them to pretend to be rally drivers and they speed, Whilst we were there on the brow of a hill there was a serious accident with a car speeding over the brow of a hill hitting a group of cycalists coming the other way (reoad closed and at least 3 ambulances). The only problems with the site is the usual one of the hardstands needing a hammer drill to make holes for the awning pegs. The site is a wi-fi bronze site so sometimes the connection is slooow but it gets there in the end. The local pub, The Quiet Woman, serves excellent 'home cooked' meals and is well worth a visit. There is a small supermarket in Wareham and a much larger ASDA in Poole. All in all this site is well worth a visit, this was our third visit to the site, and I feel that if you want a relaxing break you could do a lot worse than visit Hunters Moon.
