After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried, but we had a lovely welcome from the wardens on duty. The site is quiet and peaceful and a great place to relax. We were in a camper van so showers and toilets would be a great improvement for this site, we brought our own toilet etc but a shower would be good. We cycled from Braunton to Barnstaple on the Tarka trail, it’s a lovely flat route. The shop in the nearby village is good and about a mile away, the walk back is uphill but not a problem if you are used to walking.
