Good value, but access not great

Stayed here for a week last month. The friendly wardens have clearly done a lot of work to re-open the site - the grass was well trimmed and everything was tidy. No toilet block or shop but this means the prices are low so it was a cheap week! Most of the pitches slope (some are very steep) so you'll need blocks. Good dog walking area. However...the site is high up and quite exposed so if there's a storm you'll need to make sure your awning is well tied down. Limited public transport and not in walking distance of anything of note. The road down to the nearby village has no paths and some of the locals drive down it really quickly so we didn't risk the walk. Pub had good reviews but limited opening. You'll need to drive to local attractions of which there are many such as Lynton, Infracombe itself and the numerous beaches. The major negative is the approach road - there are minimal passing places which make it awkward even in a car...we were unfortunate enough to encounter the bus which only runs twice a day as we arrived. we had to reverse quite a way back up the lane and into a farmyard and then back into the lane - not great if you are not a confident reverser or don't have a co-pilot to assist!
