Lovely Peaceful, Clean and Tidy Site

Amongst very lovely countryside there is the beautiful Ilminster Site. Facilities are right up to date and spotlessly clean.    The Wardens were very friendly, helpful and efficient.  We enjoyed seeing several new varieties of birds all around the site. The Warden was very happy to help us identify any of them too.  So many interesting & beautiful places to visit in either direction all no further than about half an hour's drive away.  We fully recommend this site to you and we hope to go again soon.

Great Site

We have had for health reasons to put our caravan in store for the first half of the season. We visited Ilminster and the wardens could not have been more helpful. Have now had our second long weekend there, brilliant. Lots of interesting places within half an hour, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Ilminster, and Bridport to name a few. Super Site, excellent facilities and not large.

Best site ever

This is a wonderful little site, well kept and maintained with friendly helpful wardens.  We originally booked for 5 nights to explore south Someset and east Devon, we liked the site so much we eventually stayed for 8 nights. We were surprised that the site was not more popular and even over the May bank holiday there were only about 15 occupied caravans/motorhome. There is a new small dog run but we used the little lanes around the site to walk us and our dogs.  Some reviews make reference to road noise from the 303 and although the road can be heard it is not obtrusive and for us the site was tranquil and restful.  A special mention to the relief wardens who were there for a week until bank holiday Sunday, sorry but forgotten theirs names but they were so friendly, helpful and efficient.  Excellent location as a base, we visited many places including Wells, Cheddar, Somerton, Seaton, Honiton, Ilminster, Ilchester etc etc.  We will return soon.  Not sure the site would be great for families as there are no playareas etc   PS the Moo Shed just outside Chard is a must for raw milk and clotted cream and yoghurt to die for.

Great little site

Returned from bank hol. One of the cleanest sites we've been on. Toilet blocks great, neat and tidy grassed areas, easy access from main road. Handy for visiting many places round and about. Friendly and helpful wardens. Will return.

Relaxing break

Just returned after spending the bank holiday weekend at the site. I had rang in advance to ask for a pitch close to the facilities as my partner is currently on crutches, the warden couldn't have been more helpful.  On arrival this had all been organised and we were greeted warmly. The site and toilet block are immaculate and we found it very good value for money at £51 for the 3 nights. The site was quiet when we were there but I can imagine it may become a bit crowded at peak times as some of the pitches are quite close together.  We are past the age of taking the children (thankfully!) but I would suggest to those with children be aware there is no play area and for teenagers no Wifi.  That apart, we had a lovely stay and it's location allows you explore Somerset and Dorset. I would like to say again how much we appreciated the help from the very caring Wardens, many thanks!

Pleasant and quiet

A nice quiet and well maintained site. Friendly Warden helped me with a loan of tools to help with an issue I had with a gas leak. Nice stepping stone as previously suggested to commence a Devon tour. I did read other reviews somewhere that the exit onto the A303 was treacherous. I found it not to be an issue whatsoever. If traffic is travelling fast they are at enough of a distance to slow down to a more appropriate speed if need be.

Strangely Quiet!

Ideal location just off A303, well maintained site with 1st class toilet block but strangely quiet (only 5-6 outfits). Probably the high cost puts many people off what is an ideal site for the Somerset/Dorset borders.

Easter 2016

Second visit to this site very quiet can't understand why more members dont stay longer. Lots to do close to site. National trust,Forde Abbey Gardens, farm shop, Cider farm, Air museum and Motor Museum for indoor attractions. The site is well kept and facillities are very clean and the wardens very helpful and cheerful you can hear the road noise very slightly but it does not deterfrom the pleasure of the site will certainly return to this lovely site
