Couple of days stopover on the way to Dartmoor National Park. During a hot and lazy weekend, Illminster did not disappoint - chilling out was all we did. Great facilities on-site with pristine toilet block and grass pitches recently mowed. Highly recommended to chill out and take a relaxing break.
Excellent place to stay
The site is very local to places to go and visit and see very good overnight stop only problem is is there are some very well behaved dogs but unfortunately the owners are not as good leads means leads and picking up poo is a must lovely site will drop in again

Peaceful with views
Lovely small site, very well maintained.
Our dogs loved the dog area (maybe a bench for us to sit while dogs run around)
Going back before it closes, shame has to close for the winter.
Enjoyed the scones jam cream from the shop.
Easy to find although it’s off the 303 and traffic is fast , we know once passed the public house on the right , the lane to turn into is on your left .

Very spacious and clean
We spent two nights here and were delighted by the amount of space we had. Our cousins, who came to pick us up to take us out for a meal on the second night, were also impressed and said how lovely.
On the negative side, it is not easy to get to, involving a rather difficult turn from the A303 or else
up a road that is really too narrow for anything more than a car. But once you are there, it's lovely!
What a lovely site
Only stayed. One night on our way to Cornwall but excellent facilities and so well kept what a little gem

Pleasant Short Stay
We recently stayed here on our return from the West Country. It's an attractive peaceful site run by friendly and helpful wardens who keep the site looking immaculate. The toilet and washroom block is of a high standard was kept spotlessly clean during our stay. Ideally you need a car here particularly if want to travel a bit further afield however we were able to walk along the lanes without too much trouble. We very much liked this site and it's location and will book a longer stay next time we are in the area.

Lovely but no good for dogs
This site is up to the usual Caravan Club standards of cleanliness and friendliness of the wardens. It is peaceful and quiet especially as when we were there is was mostly empty. There is one big downside to this site from our point of view though. We have a dog so the facilities and the ability to walk from the site are important when we book anywhere. This site has a dog area that is barely big enough for a sneeze never mind anything else. Walks from the site are non existent because, as another reviewer has stated, local landowners have made the footpaths in the surrounding areas almost impossible to navigate. Unless you like to battle with missing signposts (we found one used to mend a stile) and electric fences blocking the footpaths. The website advertises this site as good for dogs, and walking, and it maybe is if you are prepared to drive somewhere. If you enjoy walking from the site, with or without your four legged friend, then I would suggest this is not the site for you.
Good stopover site
This item is good for a stopover if you are in a motorhome, you really need a car to get around the lanes in. We were travelling along the 303 so this was close to the road but not noisy. Unfortunately it was a bit of a precarious walk along the 303 to the Eagle Tavern but the food there was worth it. The facilities on site were excellent and very clean and warm. The staff were kind and helpful.
Wonderful Wardens and Pristine Site.
I stayed at the beginning of April for a few days. The facilities are immaculate and the wardens, Phil and Julie are super friendly, kind and helpful. All wardens should be like them. There is a small safe fenced scamper space for dogs but you won't need it as there are so many gorgeous walks to choose from. "EE" 4G has great coverage on the site. I ran my laptop no problem. I normally book CLs but will be back if I am in the area. Big Thank You to the Wardens.
Friendly and helpful welcome
We stayed here in March at the beginning of the '19 season. The wardens are friendly and extremely helpful. Situated only a few hundred yards off of the A303, this site is perfect for a long stay or an overnight stop for those travelling west. The facilities were absolutely spotless and more than adequate for a camp of this size. The site is only a short trip from Taunton, Yeovil and Chard for anybody requiring a shopping fix. Some may be bothered by the slight traffic noise from the A303 and also a slight humming from the boiler behind the shower/toilet block. Neither were enough to bother us and, both probably bettered by choosing the best situated pitches. I will definitely stay here again if in the area. Recommended!
