This is a beautiful site, set in woodland. Although quite a large site it doesn’t feel like it as the pitches are set out in small areas. We stayed in April 2021, and the toilet facilities were open and very clean, operating a band system for entry. Although in woodland our pitch had a good amount of sunshine which was lovely and sheltered. There is an excellent farm shop just up the road at Sizergh, about a mile to walk, and we made daily visits for ice cream, hot sausage rolls and other delicious treats. If you go at 3:30 you can see the cows being milked. There is also a vending machine for raw milk. We went on some lovely walks, including along the river towards Kendal, and passed a swan sitting on its nest, just off the path.
