Back again

Over the last 2 years we have been to Lidalia several times and each one enjoyable. We have not been for just over 4 months and have just been there again, it was like going home such a lovely welcome. Eddie and family are magic and a pleasure to meet. The site it's self was very good as usual they must work very hard to keep it as they do. If you are thinking of staying here please do you won't be disappointed with the site or the Village and there's plenty of nice walks to nearby.

What a gem.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, there was a choice of pitches. The staff were so welcoming, and the site well laid and clean. Pitches are all a little different. The facilities are very good, well set out the ladies is new. All are complete wet rooms so no moving around once in. They are so spacious. The village is well stocked with shops cafe etc. Only problem there is no fuel for 10 miles so don't arrive with an empty tank. There is plenty of walking in the area and marked cycle routes.

Honeymoon 2016

After 10 days touring the West of Scotland we  decided to head to the borders and visit Lidalia. I'm so glad we did. The site is situated in the stunning town of Newcastleton which in itself is very pretty. The site is perfect. Very quiet where it is situated and very well maintained. The facilities are spotless and the site is in the perfect location for some lovely walks and places of interest. the staff on site are all lovely and will go out their way to make you feel welcome. We highly recommend this site and will be visiting again in the future.

one of the best

We have been going to this campsite now for 8 years, every july for the music festival.. it is in the village but far enough away so you can have a good nights sleep.. eddie and his family can't do enough for you.. once we broke down and i phoned eddie and he gave me the phone number of the local garage, so i didn't miss the festival and my car was fixed for me leaving... the toilets are one of the best we've used, (big wet rooms)..great dog walk from the campsite into the woods... good walks nearby... doc centre next door.. bowling club next door.. main village square five mins walk.. we enjoy this site every time and i'm sure you will too

BEAUTIFUL SITE.

We arrived here for the first time on Saturday 4th June. As our motor mover was not working, Eddie (owner) helped us to pitch up. He also accommodated my wife (who has a medical condition) by giving us a pitch close to toilet. This site is run by a very friendly and helpful family. Toilets are spotless and have en-suite wet floor showers. Site is very well maintained yet family are never too busy to stop for a chat and give any advice. Situated close to village shops, there are many nice walks nearby. Cannot find anything negative to say about this site and will definitely be back. Jim & Gladys Brown

Superb Site

visited this site 4 times in last six months.  Staff, First class, never had a problem with electricity I suggest it was a problem with the new caravan most new caravans are renown for teething issues PLease do not be put off by the nasty uncalled for review. We have been caravaning for over 10yrs now and stayed at many different sites. We have not written a review before but like the last comment could not let the unjust comments go.

What a gem

We are currently here and have to say it is a delightful site. Close to the river for an aquatic Labrador. Close to all local facilities with two small supermarkets an excellent butcher, two tea rooms and bakers. Two pubs serving meals. The facilities are immaculate with everything you might wish. Electricity working great and no disturbances. Indeed generally a quiet site with a range of great walks. Thanks to all of the very friendly and helpful staff.

A lovey peaceful stay on a beautiful Caravan Park

Just back from a wonderful holiday and were putting in a review about the fantastic stay we had at Lidalia Caravan Park and we are disgusted at the review given by ‘borisandarchie’ on 26th May, being a long term member and being on site at this time we are familiar with what happened and just cannot standby and not answer this review. Reviews can be a good guide provided they are honest and unbiased. What she omitted to say was the manner in which she approached the assistant and how she regarded her as someone to treat with disrespect and disregard. The review is spiteful and of a revenge nature as we understand the warden had brought it to her attention that she has no right to treat staff with disrespect when all they are doing is their best. Being a brand new caravan, I would suggest that she did not know the working of her new caravan and caused the trip outs – probably had the assistant warden been allowed to investigate no doubt this would have been their fault. This review is not of a true report as we know they stayed on site for approximately 1 hour, nor can they stay in the heart of a village without buildings. Neighbouring this pitch this hook-up was okay as a member departed that same day with a large unit and they had no problem, it was soon occupied with another unit after they left and this member also had no problem with the hook-up. On hearing her verbal remarks to the assistant warden prompted me to follow up on this review.

Not my cup of tea

This site was not our cup of tea, for the following reasons. There were very limited pitches available for our caravan, despite making sure that the site was aware of the size. The site was very clean and tidy, and well kept. The staff were very helpful. However you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear as they say. The site fronted on to a housing estate on one side, and a school on the other, which was noisy at playtimes, etc. We suspected that some of the caravans were used for permanent living. To top it all the electrics were not up to the job, and in our case could not run the fridge and hot water at the same time and tripped out 5 times. After leaving we received what can only be described as a very rude email, from the owner, saying that our outfit must be faulty. This is nonsense, our van is brand new, and fully tested. I am surprised that the caravan club are associated with the site. We have been members of the caravan club since 1983, and visited many, many of their sites, and this is our first and only bad experience.

Loved this site

Stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. A small site but not cramped at all. Immaculately clean facilities and super friendly staff. Signage to site entrance a little too discrete! It's next to the health centre so look out for that sign. Lovely walks although booklet purchased at site needs a little interpretation to find your way ( or maybe that's just us!) great stay anyway so we've booked again for Spring bank ??
