Chinese festival of light weekend

Hi just returned from longleat after visiting the festival of lights which was fantastic even tho the weather was awful we had a great time and didnt even notice any noise from traffic or the local wildlife which what you would expect staying so close to the park which I think is one of the main attractions of this site

Will be back

Just spent two nights over the weekend at this site. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Toilet block spotless as with all Caravan Club site. Yes there was an over active sealion but that life. I do agree with the other reviews on traffic noise but you do have to expect this due to the location of the site. Are bboked to return again this weekend. LaughingLaughingLaughing

Nice but noisy

It may be just the location of our pitch but we were woken every morning at 6 am by streams of tractors and clanky trailers going from the Longleat Farm into the park past our pitch. Chatting to others in different locations they also found it very noisy, largely from activities within the park - the Festival of Light is currently on so this may only be a seasonal problem. There was animal noise (a sealion kept it up all night) but we expected that in this location - the tractor noise we did not. It is a brilliant location if you want to visit Longleat, but not great for walks from the site as access to the Longleat estate itself is only for those with tickets. The dog walk is enjoyable - a mini woodland with plenty of places for sniffing and investigating. It is very muddy at the moment so wellies and much paw cleaning required. Facilities were spotless and the wardens friendly and helpful but the traffic noise did spoil it a bit for us so that is why we have given a 4 star rating overall.

Nice peaceful site

We enjoyed our stay, site clean and tidy and wardens friendly. Nothing much nearby, but plenty if you take the car

Longleat

Lovely site. Spoiled by such a bad dirty road to get to it!! Site itself had spotless beautiful facilities! Very handy for the safari park, but not handy for shops or other places to eat. Very good helpful wardens.

Excellent site

Having returned today from a weeks stay at Longleat I cannot praise the site high enough. Although the weather was awful with high winds and heavy rain the site facilities were spotless. They were having maintenance on both shower blocks during out stay but common sense had work done on one at a time. The block closure times were explained upon our arrival and suggested pitch stops were duly acted upon. The 500 mt walk to Longleat park itself was fabulous and the sound of seals honking (I think that's what they do) was marvellous to hear in the mornings. Visiting this site this time of year made our visit to Longleats Festival of Lights a magical time. It was the highlight of our visit to the park. I would highly recommend this site and we will definitely return..........soon!

Great weekend

We have been to Longleat many times now and are never disappointed. This time we took our grandaughter and she loved it. We took advantage of the discounted day tickets for the Chinese Festival of Light, started at the safari park around 1015 and left the Festival at 1930. A full and very enjoyable day. The wardens were, as always, welcoming, friendly and efficient. Longleat is always on our list of sites to visit every year. An excellent break.

The Bees Knees

As always a very good site have stayed here several times before and as usual a very good standard. Staff as usual friendly and everything in a very good condition. Light show at Longleat was absolutely wonderful.
