Slightly disappointed

Have been here before and was really looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately when I booked the only pitch available was grass my previous visit was on hardstanding. Grass pitches are crammed together, a large proportion of them are also on very sloped areas and despite blocks etc it is very difficult to get level. I had put my back out just before visit so didn't feel.up to repacking and moving to try and find another pitch which might have been flatter so we just got on with it. During our stay we witnessed so many people struggling. We had 4 different neighbours in a week who came set up and moved again to try to find a flatter pitch. The road between the pitches was so narrow, again difficult to manoeuvre the van in unless you have a motor mover. We moved our car on several occasions to enable people opposite and beside us to try and get on their pitch. Hardstanding is definitely the better option. Again we had no notification of building works on the site next to us which meant we had 3 days of drilling and clouds of smoke next to ours and other pitches. An email pre warning would have given us the option to make sure we were pitched elsewhere or cancel and rebook another time.. The site is lovely, the staff are great but just don't rely on a nice flat grass pitch. Didn't use the facilities this time due to covid but previously all had been kept well and maintained. Would come again as it is in a great position just make sure I get hardstanding. Tv signal not great could do with ariel plug in by the electric for those who like a relaxing evening infront of tv. Just a shame so many pitches have been crammed in on the grass but its revenue over comfort of the guests which is a shame
