Loved the site from the moment we arrived and were welcomed by a friendly helpful warden. Most pitches are amongst tall well established trees and have the feeling of being very individual. Facilities excellent and very clean. Location is very quiet even though we had a visit from the local peacock who set all the dogs off. Nice 40 min walk into Leyburn either via path alongside main road or a more rural path and field route. Will definitely be back before too long.
Peace and quiet
Leaving today following 2 night stay and wish we could stay longer . Some reviews seem a little negative but from what I can see the majority of pitches are level , we are at the top part of site which is very peaceful. The toilet block may be old but very clean and good hot water . The site has a more rustic look which is perfect for the dales . The wardens are great 👍
The road is a little busy to walk to leyburn but footpath all the way . Then great walk along the Shawl with stunning views .
Great locaton
Access to the site is a bit tight but once there it is a very quiet and great location. Some of the pitches are small and most require levelling ramps. The toilet block is looking tired and requires updating to bring it up to the standard of other caravan club sites.

Peaceful and good location
Spent two nights here and didn't really want to move on. Lovely spot within easy bike ride to Leyburn although it's a busy road with a lot of fast moving lorries. Leyburn is a lovely town with good pubs, well worth a visit plus there's a nice walk on Leyburn Shawl from the top of the town. Fabulous views We also visited the waterfall very near the site tucked away in the trees and the chocolate factory in the industrial estate on the way to Leyburn.
We loved seeing Gerald the resident peacock although felt sad for him as he must be lonely. Friendly staff and fellow residents. Peaceful nights - depending upon Gerald of course! - punctuated only by a tawny owl and in the morning by the sounds of birds and sheep. Bliss.

Another stay in God’s county
This was our third stay at this site and we enjoyed it just as much as before. We had none of the electricity issues mentioned by other reviewers. The site was pretty full as it was half term and, apart from the sound of some children playing on their bikes, was as calm and relaxing as previously. The site is ideally placed to enjoy the beautiful countryside and is an pleasant walk or short drive from Leyburn for all your everyday (or occasionally) needs. The COVID measures generally worked well with regard to shower/toilet facilities, although some people seemed to misunderstand the system despite clear signage. The site ‘benefits’ frame the presence of a stunningly beautiful peacock known as Gerald, however he was not too popular with us on our first night as he decided to roost in the tree next to us and woke us up very early. Fortunately he decamped elsewhere for the rest of our stay. I highly recommend this site if you want a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the outdoors.

Lovely Layburn visit
This is a lovely quiet site with lovely trees. Didnt use shower block so carnt comment. Weather was on our side so had a lovely walk into Layburn with our dog. Lots of little cafes and pubs to choose from. Turn left at the entrance and then across a couple of farmers fields and styles for about 40 minutes. Directions can be found at reception from the helpful warden. This site also has a little dog exercising area which is great for last thing at night or first thing in the morning for a quick dog walk. It was lovely to here the peacock but we never saw it. I would definitely come back again.
Peacock Fine
Peacock wasn't a problem but two or three families close to us didn't seem to care that their children were racing about the site on bicycles (dangerous) yelling, shouting and screaming. Was I the only person who found this incredibly annoying in what was otherwise a nice peaceful site?
The ladies shower block was almost always flooded with water. I know that the shower curtains have been removed but there is a scraper which can be used to clear the water away when you have finished. Such a pity that there are people who seem to think that someone else should clear up after them!

Mainly enjoyable
This site has a gorgeous rural setting with mature trees, shrubs and flowers.
We had NO problems with the electrical supply, nor did we hear of any.
TV reception is good but WIFI is only accessible close to the reception building.
I must give warning about that poor wretched peacock screeching into the late evening and as early as 5 a.m. every morning. The warden says nobody complains - really?

Lovely stay, shame about the weather
Fabulous stay here again, super staff and reasonable layout....Peacock....noisy but harmless. We had the rain at the end of May but we did have the odd dry spell. We did manage some walking and Leyburn is fantastic too. TV signal great (Satellite) 4G signal brilliant and no need for wifi on site. My only gripe..... vehicle speed on site....same old for me I am afraid, mostly but not exclusively caravanners.....with and without their vans attached.
Left early
We stayed here 24-29 may 21 , we had no issues with the electric what so ever and tv signal was good, it's a shame that there is only one toilet block though.Site is in a nice location although no play area for children, but what I hadn't seen is any mention is the PEACOCK , this noisey beast needs to be re homed as we got very little sleep over the time we stayed and we left a day early. It starts calling at around 2100 and goes on till around 2330 and then goes quiet for the night only to start again at around 0400, if this bird was re homed the site would be nice and peaceful. Wardens were great and the site and toilet block was spotless.
