Great Site

We have just returned home after 3 nights on this site. We had visited family in Cardiff and were looking for a break in the journey home. This site is well placed just off the A49. Good wide roads and easy access to the site. The booking was very easy and professional and the staff communicated well to confirm things, even though some of this was out of normal office hours. Check in was equally professional and the staff at the site are extremely welcoming. The site itself seems quite new and All the facilities were well maintained and very clean. Its a well laid out site with a lot of Serviced pitches, which was one of the main reasons we chose this site. The pitches are level and covered in a fine shale, which seemed to be a bit of a problem for our jockey wheel, but observed others, with a different type of wheel, that had no problems at all. The water and electric are from lit bollards that are shared between 2 pitches. TV aerial connections are also from this bollard. We needed to use our TV extension cable, as we couldn't get any signal form our own aerial. Cables are available from the shop. Caravan Pitches are set up the same as the Club Sites. Car, Caravan and then Awning. The only problem we noticed with the pitches, is that were they are pegged, it doesn't leave enough room for a car at the left of the caravan. Our caravan has its water and drains to the off side so this restricts the room available. The shop is very well stocked, in fact I have never stayed at a site that had such a comprehensive array of Touring Caravan equipment. There is also a reasonable amount of essential goods should you need them. Ludlow is just 1.8 miles away and has a good array of pubs and shops and its own brewery. Large Tesco and a new Aldi, both with parking. Berrington Hall NT site is not far away and worth a visit. Well done Morris Leisure, we will be visiting this site again and also try out your other sites. Thanks

Excellent Quality Site

Just spent 7 nights at this site. It is one of the best touring sites we have stayed at. The pitches are really level, best grey water drainage without messing around getting pipes to drain. Site beautifully kept and attractively laid out. The facilities are excellent and beautifully clean. There's a well stocked shop selling all the basics and they have a good stock of touring stuff. Finally the management team were fabulous, very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful at all times. Thank you all we had a very enjoyable stay and will be back sometime in the future.

Lovely site

Just spent three nights here in my caravan travelling up from Cornwall. Good, easy access to the site from the road. Very quick and organised booking in procedure. Large level pitches nicely spaced apart. The shop is very well stocked with essentials and caravan equipment. Staff are very helpful indeed and nothing seemed too much trouble. The toilet block is large and warm with plenty of shower, toilet and basin cubicles and kept very clean. Shall certainly be returning. Even in February there were a fair number of other caravans and motorhomes here.

Lovely location and site

Just returned today from this site and can’t wait to visit again. Everyone so helpful even when we were a day late as had to stop off else where due to spending 7 hours in traffic jams from previous site. Lovely quiet site and Ludlow is beautiful. Its about a 30 minute walk away. You can also walk from site to Mortimer Forest .

Excellent!

Excellent wardens, spotless clean facilities, well kept and maintained, friendly wardens, short drive / 40min walk into Ludlow. Ludlow itself is a busy little market town with a nice selection of shops, cafes and pubs. We will be returning. Well done Morris Leisure.

Not much of a club site!

Only 2 dogs per pitch, I emailed and was advised only 2 dogs per pitch. blahhh. Come on Caravan and Motorhome club, whats going on, are you changing all your sites to 2 dogs per pitch??

Excellent

Recently stayed a week here and found this site to be one of the best we have experienced. Very well laid out, excellent facilities and lovely friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble, we had a superb pitch and a peaceful relaxing stay. Ludlow is very close and found it easier to drive the couple of miles to the park and ride and get dropped off in the center of town for 80p each, or there is a bus stop at the site entrance if preferred. We would certainly recommend this site and would indeed go back again.

a good site, recommended

nice site this one. spotless modern toilet block can't fault it, lots of fully serviced pitches. a tad pricey but it really is immaculate. All pitches flat and level and good wide hardstanding for car, van and awning. this sets an example to some club sites with the standard of the pitches and block. there is nowhere that is far from the toilet block I dont know what other reviewers are moaning about, its not that big a site. There is a slightly odd (to me, being a family man) adults only section (for which there is a per night surcharge) taking up about half the pitches. from a walk round at night this was noiser (people sat in awnings drinking / chatting late) than the family section where everyone was in their van or in bed...we told our kids not to cycle through that area to avoid any grumpies... each to their own. on site shop well stocked with essential foodstuffs if your out of milk for your tea/breakfast and quite a lot of caravan/motorhome accessories as well. Full set of larger shops/restaurants in ludlow. there is occasional road and express train noise but its a long way off , infrequent and really not an issue. based on this site i'd be very temped to use some of morris groups other sites that aren't in the CC book. in particular I'd use bridgnorth for ironbridge museums - this one is a little far although we did go. visitludlow.com claims its 30 mins - which is wrong, its more like 55. But that's nothing against with this site, just an FYI. great cycling in mortimer forest only a couple of miles from site on quiet road very cyclable, you need an MTB and to be fit though, the forest tracks are steep. or drive there and walk. playground ok, site could do with a ball games area though. there is good 4G on EE and Three, so you may not need their wifi I didn't bother just used mobile data.

Lovely site shame about WiFi

We would concur with much of what has been said by other reviewers - distance from Ludlow hardly an easy stroll, site beautifully laid out and well kept, wardens with whom we dealt were friendly and helpful. Toilet / shower facilities very well looked after, beautifully warm in a cold and wet weekend. Our only gripe was the quality of the WiFi - as this isn’t on the club network, access is at a price even and we found it was impossible to get a decent or reliable signal when we tried to log in. Maybe it was where our van was pitched in terms of not in good range of transmitter? Anyway, we were sufficiently taken with the site to think about trying others in the group in the future.

Overated and overpriced

We stayed here for 3 night during the 3 for 2 offer. This meant we were only paying around £18 per night as apposed to the usual of £28 and more. I made the booking over the phone, the woman I spoke with appeared uninterested and rude. Here's what I found during my stay Bad points: 1. Can't pick your own pitch 2. Toilet block is at the frout of site and not central 3. Dog walk area was filled with mole holes so no ball play and hardly any footpaths nearby making a walk difficult. The 'dog walk' area appeared to be a up and down piece of land they couldn't do anything with so they fenced it in and called it a dog walk 4. Adult only area onsite but kids cycle round and wardens are mostly in reception so they don't see to challenge 5. Shower not spotless as others has stated, shower walls and floor quite grubby & the shower curtains were stained yellow on the bottoms and extractors filled with dust (this is 5*?) 6. Small play area for children 7. Road noise all the while, livestock market down the road so continuous noise from lorry's. 8. At least 30 minutes walk to town which is not wheelchair or push chair friendly in places the path is quite narrow and the speed limit is 60mph Maybe I just had too high expectations after reading the reviews and reading their website where they claim so much greatness can be found. For 5* and a usual charge of approx £30 a night I expect better
