Good site

We arrive at the club site on Monday for three nights had a lovely time sites was quiet as it was mid week so was surprised to be charge high rate for my stay being told it was the Easter week which I thought was unfair as we where leaving on the Easter Thursday school's were still in and didn't stop till Thursday night so I think the CC should have price bands better as when the children are of for the spring break in two weeks time prices are back down

So good we came back

We first stayed here on our way to Skye.  We received a warm welcome and given advice about the village.  The facilities were very good, our only problem was no radio because of the surrounding mountains but easily overcome with cds. Lots of easy walking especially along the old railway bed to the head of the Loch.  Good coffee shops Shutters and MacGregors.  We returned again on our way home - it's a lovely site - thank you

A good honist stay

It will always help if the weather is good but we could not find any fault at all, we had a lovely welcome and within a very short time we found out where to go what to do and then we found 6 days was not a long enough stay WE WILL BE BACK. Only sorry we missed the northern lights on the wednesday that we arrived.

First Visit

Situated on the edge of the lovely village of Killin which has plenty of history, including the burial site of the Clan Mc Nab, the site is set on the river side it is a long site with a central toilet block & surrounded by hills picturesque & tranquil,  if parked near road some noise will be expected, plenty of walking from site if you leave site and turn left and left again over bridge you come to the ruins of Finlarig Castle & Mausoleum, and follow the path and it is a lovely circular walk into the village, path may become muddy after rain.   We visited Kenmore a lovely village at the end of Loch Tay had coffee & a cake at the loch side cafe lovely & reasonable prices. Moirlanich Longhouse is NT property but a very interesting old house, NOW CLOSED  open from 1st May - 30th Sept. Good Area to explore.

Ideal Location for Exploring

This must have been the forth time we've been to this site which due to the location is great for exploring into the highlands. The west coast is in easy reach, while exploring into the likes of Pitlochry to the east is in similar reach. We've taken the train to Mallaig from Crianlarich which is a nice day out to view the scenery on fine sunny days ----- hence pick your day! Possible comments on the site :- there can be vehicle noise from those pitched adjacent to the road. T V reception could be a problem for some, but with the modern status aerial in the vertical position I've had no problems in getting a signal from the booster mast on the hill to the south of the site. The toilet block is fine, but it could be showing signs that an update may be on the horizon? Fancy a meal out, then within a few minutes walk of the site entrance, the Bridge of Lochay Hotel offers a good menu and bar though prices are perhaps a little more than one would expect to pay for a similar meal in more populated locations. We will return.

Short stay

I only stayed for two nights but will be going back. The location is great with wonderful walks long and short straight from the site, and the history trail was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful and facilities spotless. I was pitched close to the entrance so had easy access to dog walking facilities but being pitched at the far end of the site would make it difficult for dog owners.

Short Break

As there are a lot of people with dogs, the site needs an area for excercising dogs.  If you are at the far end of the site, its a long way off site to take your dog.

Top Notch!

This was our first visit on our Scottish tour. As other reviewers say this is a great site, friendly staff, even friendlier ducks, plenty of room on site and a great centre for walking. It is so tranquil. Killin is within easy walking distance for shops but you just want to get your chairs out and pass the hours by watching the mountain scenery and the ever changing views as the clouds drift over. One of our favourites!
