Great Base
Good site - as many have already described. Can have no-car days and walk into Grange [and beyond - to Humphrey Head]; or along the coastal path the other way. Outlying fells only 10 minutes away - eg park at Millside for Whitbarrow Fell. Wildlife around - deer in the woods; and owl hooting at night. Nice to be there at quiet time of year. Farm tea shop at Sizeburgh really good - great for children - can see the cows being milked - whilst you enjoy delicious homemade fayre.
