Excellent site
Merrose Farm is a wonderful site. Its quite large, but doesn't feel it as it is very well spread out, and you feel like you are on your own little site no matter where you pitch.
It is also very professionally run. Rather than having a stream of caravans and motorhomes queueing upon arrival, a warden checks your details, gives you a map and then tells you to pitch up and return to pay when you have done so. There was also a warden cycling around with clipboard checking who had gone to what pitch number, and offering help if needed. Brilliant system!
The dog walk is one of the best on the network, and there are a number of public footpaths from the site. The one that goes to the coastpath takes about 10 minutes and is a must, especially at low tide. Avoid the Farm Shop on the way though....very expensive!
The toilet block is in two parts. The original larger one, that really needs updating, and a smaller extension thats via a separate entrance. These were cleaned in the afternoon around 3pm, which negated the usual morning scrum that you get on other sites. Our feedback is that this system works very well.
Wardens were excellent.
The area is just jaw dropping. Recommend visits to St Anthony Head and Nare Head. Both accessed via VERY narrow lanes (if you can find them) but worth the scratched paintwork! (T-Cut is wonderful stuff!)
