Perfect site in a perfect location.

We came in May 2021 and fell in love with the site and area so we came back this September and have booked a further two weeks next June. The site is well managed by the friendly and helpful wardens, thank you to Keith, Tracey, Paul, Carol, Allison and Paul. Also for your convenience the site has a cracking little shop for your basic needs including a daily newspaper The site is ideally located for walks on the South West Coast Path, a handful of beautiful beaches including Porthbean, Pendower and Porthcurnick. Looking forward to next June already..

Great place to stay

We stayed from 1st September for 4 days. Very helpful wardens especially Keith who helped us with the positioning of our caravan (to get the best of the sun). We stayed near the bottom of the site but would try for a pitch nearer the shower/toilet block next time. Would also get better signal on phones higher up. Fish & chip van was ok. Nice site, very clean and tidy.

Lovely stay

Had a great stay here, just wish we had longer. Only criticism would be the pitches are not well looked after and need weeding and a good tidy up. Pitches not checked between arrivals a disposable bbq was left on one pitch for two days and not picked up by wardens.

Great site and fab hardworking staff

Very happy I chose this site, stayed 10 days when it was full...no issues with the ablutions, site, or location. You can do a 10 min walk to a dog friendly beach, great dog walking field. A big thumbs up for the hardworking and professional staff - well done. Just as an update to the site description a pizza van also visits once per week.

Shame on you early arrivals

Spent four days at Merrose, ideal spot, walking from site easy enough once you get to the coast path, the bus times were fairly accurate and good, as the roads are small the bus can never be precisely on time, we did St Mawes lovely spot, ferry to Falmouth and back. We arrived just after the bad weather so some parts were soft understandably so, general discussion on site was the habit of early arrivals, saw 4 outfits in by 10.30am, which makes it unfair on the ones that abide by the rules and the Wardens, as no barriers straight on site, to view best pitch's, eyebrows were being raised by many to this obvious trait. Overall would come back, could not fault staff or layout, great Fish and Chips.

Wardens excellent - Wonderful Location, no hedges!

First time for us at this impressive Site, for 2 weeks earlier this month. Very busy, with FEW free pitches - upon arrival, we were sent to look at a recommended handful (all grassed only), but found that several of these were already occupied, or had signs indicating suitabity for a 'small MH' (we were in a caravan). Were then actively tracked down by a member of staff, who VERY KINDLY made us aware that a hardstanding pitch had become free just that minute, for which we were very grateful. For some reason, the Wardens appear to have challenges tracking which pitches are actually free at any given point ("People don't come back to us, to tell us where they are...") - and for this reason, we generally prefer an assigned pitch system. Pluses: Wonderful location, with interesting coves and beaches within walking distance. Helpful Wardens. Immaculately maintained grass and generous hardstanding pitches. Clean & well-maintained facilities. Regular on-site visiting FIsh & Chips and Pizzas - both of which we sampled, and were good. IDEAL base for visiiting both Roseland Peninsula and further afield (Lizard, etc.) Minuses: A very 'open site', with little shade (other than on some of the smaller grass pitches) and NO hedges or other shelter between any pitches (total contrast to Hillhead, where we'd been several weeks previously). Be prepared to be overlooked by all the 'sitting outside our van ALL DAY on our matching chairs' types. Relatively rural - you WILL need your own transport (there is a bus, but apparently unreliable at times).

Brilliant site and terrific site staff

Just back from a couple of weeks at Merrose Farm as part of our six week tour of the South West. Staff on site are a credit to the club for their friendly helpful attitude and willingness to help. The site itself is extremely well maintained and kept very clean and tidy and this includes the facilities block. A little out of the way for motorhomes maybe but this year we are towing a small car which opened up the attractions of the area to us. Highlights for us were St Anthonys head and Towans beach (dog friendly) and the various ferry crossings to Falmouth. Thanks to all the wardens for making our stay so enjoyable and especially Paul for the guitar lesson.

A perfect holiday!

What a delightful site! The pitches are spacious, the facilities immaculate, the area is stunning. The Wardens were exceptional - hard working, friendly, helpful and caring. They deserve a special mention for dealing with all the problems of maintaining the immaculate toilet facilities with all the Covid restrictions, especially when some visitors just do not appreciate that some sections are closed for everyone's safety! Two weeks at Merrose Farm Site was the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the site and the surrounding countryside. St Mawes peninsular is quite beautiful and it is worth visiting all the beaches and coves, not forgetting the pubs! Recommend picking a sunny day for a trip to St Anthony's Head and enjoy the sunning scenery and investigate the past of this fascinating area. The dog walks nearby are excellent and especially the huge fenced-in dog exercise field, which dogs can go off lead if you wish. Could have happily stayed another two weeks in this peaceful haven. Thank you for making us so happy.

Our favourite go to site

Merrose continues to be our number one go to site whilst in the South West. It's location although a bit off the beaten track is within easy walking distance to Portscatho and just a short trip to St Mawes, with the added bonus of the passenger ferry to Falmouth. The site is very well managed and we found Keith and Tracey most helpful, even to the extent of giving help and advice with our onward journey, including information about other club sites.

Covid highlighted inadequate facilities

The site grounds were kept to the usual high standards by the wardens and the location is fantastic but....the facilities aren't adequate. Covid requirements highlighted this, with only three wrist-bands available to keep people separated when accessing the facilities of a 170+ pitch site.
