Modbury has what you would expect from a Club site - excellent Wardens, well kept grounds, clean showers and overall well run. The roads around the area are narrow but do not cause too much of a problem if you drive with consideration for other road users, however they are dangerous for pedestrians I therefore would not recommend walking into Modbury. The shower block is well in need of an upgrade and is definitely showing its age.
Being a dog owner I must mention the dog walk which is almost half an acre of well fenced 'lawn'! Perfect.
An enjoyable stay! Recommended!
What a Lovely Site
My wife and I have just returned from a week stay at the Modbury site, and it is excellent.Everything is clean, and tidy and very well kept. A credit to the wardens who look after the place.
We have stayed at another site that is close by previously, and this CC site is head and shoulders above. We would not hesitate to recommend this site
The dog walk area is probably the best we have ever had, and the children have a play area plus a massive field should they want
I must mention the road getting to the site as previous posts had found it difficult. I had no problems whatsoever.
Yes the road is narrow in some places, but as long as you read the road ahead, and if necessary wait in one of the wider spots for oncoming vehicles to pass, then you will have no problems at all.Everybody that I met going and coming out were very considerate and would wait in a wide spot if needed.
Sometimes I feel that some members want everything, easy access and peace and quiet.
The problem is if you have big roads then you will get big traffic and you can forget the peace and quiet.
If you want peace and quiet on site, then you have to get off the big roads you cant have both

Love this site.
This was our first caravan holiday without any of our children in nearly 23 years! We really like the location of this site; tucked away in the South Devon countryside. There are some lovely cross country walks to nearby Modbury. Modbury itself is a great little village with some fab pubs and good shopping. It is a good centre point for trips to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Plymouth, Ivybridge and Dartmoor. There is loads to do around this area for children and adults. On the site is a huge field for children to play ball games and run around, another huge field for dogs to exercise off the lead, a safe play park for younger visitors, and although the toilet blocks seem a little bit dated they are spotlessly clean and because it is not an overly busy site we didn't have to queue for a shower once! The friendly wardens do a fantastic job keeping the site very tidy and they cannot do enough to ensure everyone is having a pleasant stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Modbury and found it very relaxing and peaceful. We will definitely be going back.

10 Day stay August
We echo the previous comments that have been made but will say that this is a lovely site, kept very well by the hard working wardens.
The dog walk feature is superb, the wildlife is also abundant.
All in all a really enjoyable stay.
Many thanks

Peace and quiet
Lovely well kept site inspire of what others have said about toilet block we found it to be very clean and well kept as was the whole site the warden were lovely people the only down side if you can call it that is it was a bit of a trek out off way due to diversions in modbury tight small roads and corners in a big motorhome don't always go but once there it was worth it
Modbury, use it or lose it.
We stayed at this site for 3 nights. The weather changed to storm conditions whilst we were there but what a good site to be storm bound on. Many of the pitches being used were seasonal so not many people on site, even during school holidays. The approach is via a road which is narrow in parts, but take it steady and watch for passing places and places to reverse back to if needed; we got through in a large motorhome without incident. The toilet block is kept clean and tidy, it's not the newest type but very servicable; it does not require demolition.
Modbury- Excellent
My Partner and I stayed at Modbury from 13th to 26th August. The site in our opinion is a credit to the Wardens. Shower blocks slightly outdated but spotlessly clean, brilliant Dog walking facilities, all pitches spotless too.
Plenty of room on the pitches and the Wardens unobtrusive but helpful and pleasant. Being middle aged I was impressed that although Families on site, all children were very well behaved, well mannered and courteous. being a Dog owner I noticed that all Dogs were tethered unless in walking area, which is lush and clean. On the whole I would find it difficult to criticise the site and would definitely return. Thank You Lorna and co we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here for 7 nights and enjoyed the South Hams. The roads to and from all places are quite narrow, but if you take care all should be well. The toilet block is in desperate need of upgrading, worst toilet block we have been in, on a caravan club site.
The price should be less.

Spot on!
This site has to be up there amongst our favourite sites in the club network. The location is very central in the South Hams so places like Bigbury, Bantham, Burgh Island, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Slapton are within easy reach. As to the access we didn't find it that challenging. Yes there are narrow places, but take it easy and follow the guidance in the Club Handbook and you shouldn't have too many problems. We will certainly return soon.

A peaceful place to stay
We had a lovely long weekend on this site. It is SO quiet - no road noise at all. The access road has plenty of pull in places and did not give us any concerns. Facilities immaculately clean, though not overly modern, and no push button on the showers which was a nice change. Only a few miles from the beautiful coast path and within easy distance of Salcombe and Dartmouth. Highly recommend.
