This site is a tranquil site in a lovely area of Hereford. The hosts were welcoming and helpful during our stay. The facilities were kept clean and tidy. The area is lovely with nice walks
A spotlessly clean site, set in beautiful countryside. We managed enjoyable cycling and walking, but, sadly, our visit was cut short by a most unexpected family bereavement. Wardens were helpful, caring and understanding, doing everything they could to help, under the sad circumstances.
Really friendly couple running this site. Easy to find, great selection of pitches. Good location although need a car to get around as not many walks from campsite.
Loved this charming site. Kept immaculate by the lovely Wardens, They gave us so much local Knowledge and tips for seeing as much of the beautiful area as we could p get into our stay. Being National Trust members we enjoyed the area very much. Will be booking our return for next year. No shop or play area. It suits peace and quiet campers. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Had 7 nights here last week and found it very peaceful and relaxing. Plenty of places a short drive away for walking with my dog and lots of information available about the area for things to do. Very good value for money. Facilities could do with a bit if an upgrade but kept really clean and tidy by the wardens. If you want a quiet break with just rural sounds (and smells!) then this is a good place to visit.
We had a very enjoyable stay here. It's away from it all and pitches are well spread out, but there's lots to do and see within a short drive. Very helpful and friendly wardens who keep the site in great condition. The mobile signal is poor so if connectivity is important make sure you get one of the pitches within WiFi range.
We spent the late May Bank holiday here with friends in order to visit the Hay festival but also to have some relaxing time. The site managers are friendly and helpful and maintain the site to a high standard. The mobile phone signal is very poor on site which depending on your view is a good or bad thing. We took a nice walk ( approximately 5 miles round trip ) from the site via the Orchard to the Portway Inn on the edge of Staunton on Wye village. Excellent Sunday lunch and surprisingly quiet.
We booked four nights here with the purpose of attending various events at the Hay Festival, punctuated by some pleasant rural rest and relaxation.
We were not disappointed. The site is well laid out on the site of an old railway station, and all is well maintained. Friendly, helpful and clearly diligent wardens, as evidenced by spotless facilities. We look forward to returning.
