MIXED FEELINGS

Moreton is a really lovely site in a fantastic location next door to the town.  The wardens are superb - nothing was too much trouble for them.  The facilities are immaculate and the addition of a wood fired pizza oven twice a week and hot croissants and pains du chocolate at weekends is the icing on the cake so to speak!  HOWEVER ........ the site is enormous - over 180 pitches arranged in two sections and very sadly, the Caravan Club are at it again by being greedy and cramming in too many pitches.  A great many pitches in the top half of the site were packed in like sardines, and awning pitches were so narrow that cars had to park in front of the outfits which resembled an enormous car park when viewed from our pitch.  This section is just too overcrowded and felt very claustrophobic.  Now, I don't want to appear curmudgeonly, but there seems to be a misunderstanding amongst parents and grandparents bringing children on site that Club rules don't apply to them.  Despite clearly stating "No ball games on site" and the fact that there is a huge football field, crazy golf and a playground only a short stroll away, these custodians of children are quite happy to let them play football on site near other caravans whilst they are nowhere to be seen!! Come on you lot, we were all kids once, but there are some of us who go away for a bit of peace and quiet and certainly don't want to have to tolerate other people's noisy children!  The play facilities are there for a purpose - we all contribute to the upkeep of them in our fees, so why not use them??  Moans over - we would really recommend this site, but have a good look round before you decide on a pitch, there are lots to choose from.  Good luck!

Excellent

We rang this site on the off chance that although the internet showed no vacancies that they might accommodate us, we had booked into Longleat CC Site & had decided to leave early (see my Longleat review), we rang the site & a very helpful lady(Bev) informed us that yes, they could have a pitch available for us if we wanted one & advised us that as we were leaving early due to being unhappy with Longleat,we could get our money refunded to us as we were going to another CC site. This we did, & arrived a Morton in the marsh about three hours later after getting stuck in traffic for an hour or more. Bev was extremely friendly & helpful on our arrival as we were somewhat 'frazzled'. Excellent site, close to town, very dog friendly (the main reason we left Longleat), with an excellent dog walking field & we will definitely return.

Highly Reccomended Site

Stayed here for 5 nights, lovely clean site with nice flat pitches, the staff are very helpful & couldn't do enough, very central for Morton in Marsh & excellent for the Cotswolds. For a very nice meal & a nice pint of real ale try The Bell Inn on the high St, the pub has recently been taken over by a new owner & has a new chief. Great  quality food,at very good prices not to be beaten. Well done to the caravan club for yet another excellent site.

Can't fault moreton

First visit to this site - it won't be our last - easy access, short walk to moreton. Facilities were very clean, our pitch was great, decent size, but best of all were the wardens, exceptionally helpful, and friendly, great feeling to the site.

Hard, Hard standings

Fantastic site, but you will need a lump hammer and strong pegs for the awning on hard standing. I suspect concrete base under gravel and a mallet won't drive them through. I will however say again great site, and I will book to go back again. but this time with a large hammer

Convenient break

Our first visit here but it won't be the last. It is easy to walk into Moreton and to access the countryside and beautiful towns in the area. The washrooms are clean, warm and well-maintained and the showers magnificent! Some noise from the nearby road but our main complaint (not specific to here) is that there was a charge for Wifi (and reception was not good anyway, according to others). Club members should not have to pay for Wifi!!

Pitches too close

Just left the site after two nights, we were on pitch 121 which only had a 2 mtr. grass strip between us and pitch 122 totally against fire regs. we saw the wardens and they didn't realise it was so small even though they cut the grass every week. We could not put our awning out as it would be on the grass leaving even less space between the two pitches. When pitch 122 vacated the wardens closed the pitch. The regional manager is visiting next week and hopefully will email me with the outcome. In our opinion the area we were in was really overcrowded and resembled a car park or winter storage.
