Lovely

3rd time at this lovely site very tranquil and relaxing. We were blessed with excellent weather. Wardens friendly toilet block bit dated but clean enough. Good base for exploring the area which is outstanding for scenery. Will return.

excellent

Lovely site kept beautifully in true CC tradition and staffed by friendly, helpful people. My only gripe is that the site directions take you through a narrow road that is very bumpy to the extent that we grounded out a couple of times in the mile in from the main road and actually damaged our A-frame fairing despite proceeding slowly. There is a wider and flatter route in from the west side of the valley but the site is not signposted along it. Otherwise it is absolutely excellent.

Tranquility

We stayed for 7 night and thoroughly loved everything about the site and the area. Friendly, helpful wardens, very clean toilet block and a well maintained site. The area is very beautiful with tremendous views and plenty of places to visit. We will certainly visit the area again.

Mountain Morvich

Close to Sheil Bridge and about 12 miles from Lochalsh,( the nearest supermarket), this little site was busy with the daily coming and going of vans and motor homes. The tent area always had at least one resident and was regularly occupied by dedicated long distance walkers on an overnight stay with their little tents. When we were there in the middle of May the weather began damp and cloudy but turned exceptionally warm and sunny for the second half of our stay. Getting wet whilst on a walk is not a problem as there is an excellent drying room. There are many walks to choose from but good 'gear' is essential as the paths, although  mostly well marked, are not ideal for an afternoon stroll, and are often some way from an accessible road. An experienced walker could be rewarded with a view of the spectacular Falls of Glomach after a five and a half mile walk, mostly steeply uphill. Slightly less challenging are the forest walks around Balmacara, a short run up the coast. Where ever you go the views are amazing, impressive hills in every direction.

We also visited nearby Eilann Donan castle, and thought it good value for money. Privately owned and relatively recently restored after 200 years a ruin there was lots to see. Worth choosing a visit time carefully as there are often several coach parties and the corridors are narrow. There's plenty of parking

A word of warning. Exit the site carefully. The lane is mostly quiet but a few cars travel along quite quickly to say it's a twisty single track road

Great views

Only stayed one night on way to Stornoway. Warm welcome, large well segregated pitches. Basics available in shop. Usual caravan club toilet block. Easy access of main road. Peaceful and quiet and, oh, the views.

Scenic serenity

We arrived on site, after a beautifully scenic journey. We advised on sites available and chose one tucked away from the quiet road, overlooking the snowclad mountains. Dog walking is off site on the quiet road, which leads to the most beautiful little river (dog paradise), plenty of bins to dispose of dog litter on route. Site was beautifully kept, with a lovely warm toilet block. Always appreciated when it's windy weather. We had a lovely walk to the lochside through Morvich, another towards the outdoor centre. Although the site was quite busy, it was still extremely peaceful. We will return.
