Visit early May 2022

CAMC New Forest Bransgore, Hampshire We (2 persons and a dog) visited for 4 nights at the beginning of May 2022. The site is large and we had plenty of space. The facilities are very good and kept that way by the site team. We were very pleased with the dog paddock which is large, secure, has a mixture of rough and smooth areas, and the dogs can roam free within it. The walk from site is at the side of the road until you reach the open area of the new forest. No public footpaths adjacent to the site. We did a walk via new forest from the site to the old station tea rooms at Holmsley. Very nice food. To get to it, walk past the Holmsley campsite through the forest to Holmsley mill. Turn left and follow the path for about half a mile. Turn first right on the path to the old railway line. Turn right on this path to the old station. We also walked into Bransgore but had to use road edges and pavements. It is a pity there are no official footpaths in this direction because as the crow flies Bransgore is not too distant. A walk to the pub is an expedition. I can recommend The coffee house cafe in Bransgore. It is opposite the co-op. Very friendly and food is not expensive. It supports the community. The New Forest site is perfect for cyclists and those on 4 wheels.
