Great place tp relax

I have stayed at Low Moor 4 times now and I have always found the site to be peaceful and quiet, there is so much to see and do from the site with Robin Hood's bay and Whitby just a stones throw away, and for the rail enthusiast a trip to Grosmont for the North Yorkshire Moors railway is a MUST!!! The site is tidy and well kept by the friendly wardens. The only drawback is the lack of a toilet block which reflects the lower score, this would be the icing on the cake... :O)

A Yorkshire Gem!

Just spent another fantastic 9 nights at one of our favourite club sites. What a great base it makes for seeing some of the best that Yorkshire can offer, great castles, fabulous gardens, stirring moors scenery, heritage railways and, of course, the jewel in the crown, Whitby. This has to be one of the most captivating seaside towns in the whole of the country, not just Yorkshire. It just doesn`t change. We`ve been visiting it for many years now and we`re glad to say that its splendour never fades. The site has seen some welcome improvements from the present team of wardens and volunteers. It looks much tidier and is well kept. Will never tire of going back. Love it.

Dog friendly site

Had a girlie weekend away last weekend with my daughter and our 3 dogs here. We loved it. Site was immaculate, wardens helpful and friendly and the same for the other guests. 3 dedicated dog walks meant the hounds were happy too. Topped off with fantastic weather. Cant believe  we havent been here before as its only an hour away from home. Will definitely be back. Can also recommend the visiting fish and chips on Friday.

Great site

This is probably one of the quietest prettiest sites   we have ever been on . No toilets or showers but the service points are numerous and well laid out so no problem. Only about five miles from Whitby, one of our favourite places, doesn't get any better than that!

Away from it all

Had 5 glorious days here with excellent weather. One of the easiest campsites to find and no narrow roads, just a few hilly bendy A roads. There are no toilet/shower facilities here but there is a really great number of service points so no problem filling/emptying. Wardens were friendly and helpful without being in your face. Don't miss the Fish & Chips, there were fantastic!!!!!!!

Wonderful Whitby

Our second visit to this site and the welcome this time was warmer than last time. It is a lovely site about 10 miles from Whitby town but there are no bus routes nearby. We used the new Park and ride which has a space specifically for motorhomes and this worked well. £2:30 return by bus into the town running every 15 minutes. The site is quiet and spacious. small playground for kids but room for them to ride their bikes. No facilities so you will need washing and loo facilities in your "van". We enjoyed our 2 days there.

Peaceful stay

We stayed at this site the first two weeks in August and were more than happy with the site which was kept in immaculate condition by the hard working wardens. There are lovely walks from the site although Falling Foss was a disappointment, probably due to lack of rainfall. There is good cycling in the area too and Whitby Abbey on a beautiful summers day was gorgeous.  Whitby itself wasn't for us as it was too busy with loads of people making the best of the fish and chips which I understand are the very best.  I've made comment on other reviews about the speed of cars/motor homes on sites, and on the particular site the wardens seem to be making a particular effort to address the problem by stopping drivers and pointing out the speed limit of 5mph. On arrival they make a point of reiterating the speed limit too so how anyone can be unaware of the limit is beyond me! One warden did ask us if we had any suggestions to combat the problem as she was exasperated by people's ignorance. This has to stop before a child is badly hurt or worse!

Total Relaxation

This site is just fabulous. The wardens are lovely people and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. There is no toilet block, that did not matter to us as we have our own facilities. It is really a beautiful part of the UK and the moors are spectacular. The site is kept in pristine condition and nothing is out of place. Although a large site it does not feel so as the pitches are well spaced out and loads of room with many cul-de-sacs which gives it a smaller site feel. Just wish it was open over the Christmas period as we would definitely go then, but, we will be back at some point, definitely one to remember, close to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay. We were there at Regatta time and that was good. Thank you to the Wardens for making our stay so good. x
