Wonderful Autumn Stay

We arrived during storm Callum to a warm welcome from the wardens, who were also friendly and helpful during our stay. The site is easy to access, and has a mix of grass and hardstanding pitches, which are set out in small sections, giving the feeling of space . The site is surrounded by trees with tantalising glimpses of the moors between them. There is an excellent dog walk and you can access the lane to Falling Foss from the gate in the dog walk, from there we did a lovely circular walk to May Beck, and back through the woods. There are plenty of service points around the site and the Motorhome point has one of the new open grid emptying points. The site is a little remote,( which may not suit everyone) away from the main road so it is very quiet, plenty of wildlife, we even saw a Deer one afternoon. There is plenty to do in the area with the coast and moors close by, the site also has mini crazy golf, equipment available at reception. Ruswarp has a wonderful butchers which also sells great pies and cheeses, there is also a pub but car parking is very limited. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at The Plough in Sleights and dogs are welcome in the bar. Whitby is lovely and the beach is completely dog friendly in October, don't forget to try the Fish & Chips 😉 This is a wonderful no facilities site and one we will return to.
