Granted they cant alter the weather but closing the office for 5 hours then coming around to paying customers and mucking them about like this defies belief. Payment in advance proves very useful to management like this.

Posted on 11/09/2019 18:33 by OneputtThat’s the problem isn’t it, (no disrespecting the OP) but we only ever hear one side of the story and I often wonder if it’s the whole story

I agree - the other problem with "reviews" like this (which aren't actually reviews of the site at all) is that it provides a bandwagon for those with a perceived gripe about the club to jump on and generalise from.
And that is not to minimise the OP's predicament at all, from their perspective is was obviously a very unsatisfactory experience.

Yes I agree too, and it usually never is, but of course the other side cannot state their side. Also too many take it as an excuse to have a go at the club without knowing the full facts.
It is far better to write in and get the matter fully investigated in cases like this then the wardens can be held to account if needed.

On this site the seasonal pitches have the same white number peg as touring pitches but there was a purple stick beside it I thought it was just to support the white peg that was moving about on the saturated land. So all the pitches had white marker pegs a different colour marker would have made you question why

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your comments. Please see the below reply from the Regional Manager which the OP has also received in writing addressing all of his concerns:
Thank you for getting in touch regarding a recent stay at our Nunnykirk site, I was sorry to read it didn’t meet with your expectations and express regret for the time taken to respond to your concerns.
Firstly, I would like to apologise for any confusion regarding the white and purple pegs and I’m sorry that was not explained to you in more detail. However, the warden did inform you to only choose from those white peg pitches marked on the map and had not made a mistake as you assumed. I’m sorry the warden passed you several times while cutting the grass and did not point out you were on a seasonal pitch, but he would have been happy to clarify the doubts you had regarding those marked on the map if you had flagged him down while he was passing.
I can assure you that the wardens had been inspecting the pitches on a regular basis and in fact the entire site was closed for 7 days after the flooding to allow the ground to recover. I would always recommend discussing any issues with the site staff. Had they know of the issues you had leaving the pitch, they would have also been happy to help.
The tracks you mention near to your pitch were actually caused by a 26t waste lorry, which was given specific instructions not to drive down to that part of the site but disregarded this.
As you say, the Club has no control over the weather, but as an all grass site the staff at Nunnykirk pay close attention to the state of the ground and will close any pitch they feel presents a risk of a guest becoming stuck. I’m sorry you did not have an enjoyable stay on this occasion.
