Great Bank Holiday Weekend

We spent the Bank Holiday Weekend at Pandy And found a real Gem This site is really one of the best we have visited Friendly staff perfectly clean although next to a railway line on one side we found overall very quiet a Lovely river runs along the other side and we chose a pitch on that side we could hear the river as it ran over the stones down the river Excellent well worth a visit

Great weekend break

Excellent site. We were on our maiden voyage after seventeen years away from caravanning . We had a great time, location great , pub great with good food and really friendly service. The site was excellent so clean and well kept. The warden works hard. Will be back there shortly

Best dog walk

Due to the nearby running train it was not the quietest location but at night it seems that the train was not operated or it doesn't disturb us. We slept very well and the location itself was very comfortable and clean.  The staff during checking in and out was very friendly.  The dog walk was very nice located nearby to a stream running through a small forest.  We enjoyed the pub just around the corner with local beer and typical food.

Best on-site dog walk!

Just returned from the August 2016 Bank Holiday weekend at Pandy. First trip here. Stayed in my motorhome. Easy to find, the pub on the corner is a great marker (don't follow sat nav as I did, ending up down a one way track on the other side of the road! The site is small and perfectly formed. Immaculate as always with utterly charming staff. The warden even came and showed me how to use the ratchets on my awning holder-downer straps. So sweet. So the site, for me the stand out amenity is the dog walk. It is a decent little leg stretch for my tiny dog and, heaven above all heaven, it runs beside the most beautiful little stream/river. Think Swallows and Amazons. On a summer day it is the perfect place to bring a blanket as the children make dams and play in the shallow water. My dogs adored it. The pub was ok, a decent if simple menu and a well-kept place. I think it might have been more welcome in the winter when a hot pie around a table would be just the ticket. A big Waitrose not far away (6 miles?) We drove to Brecon. Not the most inspiring of towns. Stopped at Llangoren lakes (sp?) on the way home. Felt just like being in the new forest with wild horses and plenty of parking places for motorhomes to pull up, throw out the chairs and put the kettle on. Perfect. Only problem is you can't very easily walk around the lake, which seems a shame. Train noise? A bit but nothing to worry about. Really. Anyone living in a normal urban environment hears more on a daily basis than the very few trains that go by. So Pandy, will I return? Absolutely. It is perfect. Just perfect.

Enjoyable Stay

OK the sons of the train running past the site was off putting at first but it soon became part of the charm. Facilities are very good and the staff friendly and approachable. We will certainly visit again.

Wales holiday

The site would be great quite site if it was not for the train track running adjacent to the site,as at night time freight trains shake you out off caravans!!!! This is between the hours off 1.30a.m/4.30.a.m then the normal trains start!!!

Great Site but in need of an update

We stayed at this site and used the local bus service to visit Abergavenny twice.  The service is generally reliable but rural means one bus every 2 hours.  Anyway, there are plenty of shops in the town and we found it a very friendly place.   The site was small and pretty good.  The trains did not disturb us. The toilet block, although kept clean as usual by the warden staff was in desperate need of an update and this aspect was disappointing. The dog walk is one of the best we've seen taking you into the woods and next to a delightful river. Probably use the site again to explore this part of the country more.

A Real Gem

We visit the site a few times each year and the standards remain consistently high. The location is good with a traditional dog friendly pub on the doorstep (Pandy Inn) serving good food. The trains are the only distraction from this peaceful site and even then they provide a good talking point, especially the steam and freight trains. Access is good to the surrounding area which is stunning and a great example of the lovely Welsh valleys. Pitches are well laid out and the Wardens are helpful and courteous.

Lovely site

we love this site have been a few times and know the area, site wardens very friendly and helpful. I don't know why people moan about the trains, yes some are louder but not like being near a high speed line. Such beautiful countryside, highly recommend take- away from pub.

A little bit of paradise

We stayed at Pandy for 7 nights at the end of July. What a gem of a site. The sound of the river running on site, totally relaxed me in the evenings. The trains going passed were not a problem at all. Our dogs loved the dog walk and the fun to be had in the river. Lovely and clean site with good showers. Good amount of things to do in the area, and all easily accessible. Hope to visit this site again.
