Lovely site

We’ve just got back from a week at Pandy. We had a lovely welcome from the wardens when we arrived. We had a great week, we were lucky with the weather too which was an added bonus. Lovely site. We had a grass pitch and have a big caravan and there was plenty of room for the caravan, car and awning. The dog walk was fab and our golden retriever Tia loved her daily walks down to the river for a paddle. There was a train line alongside the site but it didn’t bother us at all. Lots of walks nearby and plenty of nice places to visit, we chose outdoor places, gardens, and castles mainly. We would definitely like go back to Pandy.

Lovely small and peaceful site

Stayed last week of September when weather was good. We were on a grass pitch with plenty of room and a good distance from our neighbours. Cannot comment on facilities as we used our own. Would have thought site was more adult than child friendly which is why we chose it. Pity we had to leave one day early due to imminent bad weather (didn't fancy driving home 4 to 5 hours in stormy conditions). Will return!

Small friendly site

The wardens, Julie and Bill, keep the site immaculately clean and well maintained. There's a good dog walk and exercise area alongside a stream and safe footpaths directly from the site. Despite the site being full, and the 'rule of two' in toilet/shower block at any one time, we rarely had to queue during our week long stay. I think this could be because the site is predominantly used by more mature people (there no specific facilities for children) who are well aware of COVID risks and so responded to the request to use their onboard facilities whenever possible. Yes, there is some train noise from the branch line that runs alongside the site but it didn't bother us - we've stayed on sites where road noise was much more intrusive. There is plenty of green space on the site but the individual pitches aren't very generous in size necessitating careful parking if you have a caravan and awning.

Lovely site, great staff

Stayed here in a motorhome sept. Unfortunately all hard standing pitches were taken so we were on a grass pitch. Motorhome next to us got stuck which made us uneasy about our getaway. However Bill came to the rescue, lending us mats & guiding us out. With friendly Julie as well they are a great team. Lovely dog walk onsite & great walks directly from the door. We will be returning (not to a grass pitch next time).

Pandy - nice site

We visited this site recently, unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather as it was quite a wet week, which resulted in the grass pitches being quite boggy. Pandy is a lovely, small site, with good facilities and a nice dog walk area leading down to the river. Yes, there is a trainline running one side of the site but to be honest after a while we didn't really notice the noise and it certainly didn't keep us awake at night. Whilst I commend CAMC on its response to COVID in relation to the facilities and the introduction of the band system at the site. I and others i spoke to felt that the 2 person limit was very restrictive especially if those 2 people were in the shower. This could be problematic if you had small children, staying in a trailer tent, caravan or campervan without its own facilities. It may be something worth thinking about, maybe the introduction of two sets of hooks, one for shower and one for toilets. As the majority of those staying on the site adhered to social distancing and would no doubt use some common sense when in the toilet block when faced with another person, as was the case when 2 of us came out of the shower at the same time. I would also like to say that the wardens were proactive with regards to the cleanliness on site during the whole time we were there. A site we would definitely consider visiting again.

Noisy trains

Lovely small site, spotlessly clean. Pitches nice sizes, all covid restrictions ahead to, good to see the bands worked here,,no park here for children. Will say this as ite is tight next to a train line which was noisy every 30 mind or so and thru the night.. Especially noisy when they sound the horn most of the time.. So just bear this in mind we were on no3 and that's the side where the train runs. this site isn't near anywhere tbh yes there's a pub as you come in but not open fully atm due to covid.. The riding sun it about 10-15 min walk. But no other pubs around, you definitely beef a car.. Abergavenny itself was a lovely small village, but was really busy, we visited the castle which my husband loved.. All in all tho this site is lovely and we will be back for sure.

A lovely break

We've just got back from 4 wonderful nights and had a lovely break. First and foremost I must praise Julie and Bill, the site wardens who were busy the whole time as the site was packed full, but were ever so cheerful as they went about their work. I did tell them I was going to report them, as I saw them sat down twice on the hottest day of the year, but they fully deserved their cups of tea! We parked on a hardstanding area near the exit on our fits night, but felt a bit hemmed in. Thankfully, a pitch became available opposite the next morning and we moved there. Although close to the railway, we had wonderful views to the sunsets over the hills and sat out late each evening (apart from the last night when we experienced a real humdinger of a storm). Happily, everyone got their stuff packed up jut before the deluge and we enjoyed the lightning show for a good four hours. Although the hardstanding pitches looked as if they might flood, the water drained away rapidly and there was no problem. Despite the excessive heat, we managed four hilly cycle rides, including one over the Gospel Pass and each day we called in at the fantastic shop in Longtown for all sorts of provisions. The scenery around is out of this world and we'll definitely be returning for our fourth visit.

Well presented site

This was our first time using the caravn this year.We had booked this prior to Covid 19 lockdown and were pleased that we were now able to have a week away. We were worried about Covid preparations on site as we are classed as aged and at risk. The site was prepared as per the detail on the club website and on arrival we were taken through the arrangements on site.which were easily followed and adhered to by all. What we did not realise was that the site had been flooded twice , back in November and again this year priot to opening. The exceptional condition of the sie and its facilities was down to the hard work of the CAMC staff .Well done ! I would like to acknowledge and thank the wardens on site. They worked constantly throughout each day keeping the site and facilities in exceptional condition They were friendly and knowledgeable on local things and happy to help with any questions. Thnks to both of the wrdens on this site for a great week
