Lovely little site

Warm welcome  at this busy site and when we arrived there was very little choice but nevertheless found a good spot. Facilities spotless. Excellent dog walk on site down by the stream with loads of wild flowers as well as  a walk across the road. Took the bus into Abergavenney (£5.10 return and £1 each way for each dog). The Ship Inn en route from the bus station allows dogs inside and we had a coffee and bacon sandwich there - others having a full breakfast at a reasonable price). Impressive castle ruins and a small museum (donations) - it said no dogs so we took it in turns to sit outside on one of the benches near the entrance to the grounds. Pleasant little place to walk round with an indoor market. Had lunch at The Angel which allows dogs inside and in the courtyard - shared the Foxhunter platter which was actually an excellent selection of Spanish deli. Provided fresh water for the dogs. Friday evening went to the local pub, the Old Pandy Inn, where dogs are allowed in the snug/bar. On recommendation from a local I had the pheasant pie which was superb.
