Nice site

A nice quiet site. Approach road needs attention showers great pressure and always hot and clean although can't see need for a key  Needs more outside night lighting as dark in places making it difficult to see ramps which could be a trip hazard. Disappointed pub down road closed down but not CC problem. Terrible bus route to Benlech. However we wIll definitely return.

Excellent Caravan Site

Visited mid-September 2015. Took an instant liking to the site and the usual friendliness of the staff. The site was quite full at the time of staying, which suggests it's popularity. Penrhos is a delightful location, with close proximity to both Benllech or Llangefni for amenities, with Benllech being slightly nearer. I had big expectations of staying at Penrhos and it didn't disappoint. The site is generally sheltered and surrounded by trees, but at the rear of the site a bank affords stunning views of Snowdonia. For kids there's a rugged play area ( the swings were good, when experienced by a fifty something adult, but keep that to yourself ! ) Nice clean and warm washrooms and good recycling facilities too. A great base for visiting Anglesey by car or bike and a reasonably short drive will get you into the heart of Snowdonia. All in all, a delightful place to stay and as soon as I get another opportunity, I will be straight back !

Great site

When we arrived we couldn't find a flat grass area for our twin axle caravan, the assistant warden couldn't be more helpful. He tried all ways to solve our problem and in the end gave us a place for the night. Next day we were settled and then were able to extend our stay.  The site was to the usual standard of the Club sites.  This one was very well looked after in every way and all the wardens were very helpful and obliging.  We would certainly go back again.

No need for keys for toilet block

Great site  but needs a bit of TLC now 1 need to get rid of the keys for the toilets (who else is going to be using the toilets except caravanners) 2 approach road needs repairing 3 chemical toilet disposal needs sorting ,funny smell most of the day 4 need  spare gas refills  very disappointed no gas for sale  I  ran out of gas went to buy some but was told they had none ,and i would have to go to Cae mawr to buy some  ! surely the site should always have gas for sale? Still we enjoyed our stay and would go back  it has a great position and site is well looked after by staff they were very friendly

A good club site that needs an upgrade

We stayed here second week of September and were made very welcome by the wardens. As always they kept the site very clean and the toilet block was well looked after as usual. Their good work was let down by the approach road which didn't need speed bumps as there were so many potholes, this was probably the responsibility of the land owners and not the Club but really needs to be addressed. The toilet block is in need of updating and the cess pit vents emitted an unpleasant odour until it was eventually emptied. The site is well laid out and we had an enjoyable stay despite the above mentioned faults. We would definitely return, hopefully after road improvements .

Peaceful site

We stayed at this wonderfully peaceful site in September and the weather was lovely most of the time. Great dog walk with brilliant crisis cross short grass walking but longer for dogs to play. Showers lovely and hot with plenty of pressure. Wardens were lovely and very helpful. All in all a great stay. Thank you

Sept stay

We visited the site early September for 8days and the location for us was great. The entrance road needs repairs as it is full of potholes and the toilet block needs some attention as either the close proximity of the chemical cleaning facility or the drains give a strong sewerage smell in and around the block. Wardens as 99% of Club wardens were brilliant and we would certainly return. but attention please to two problems

Lovely site, beautiful island

We stayed here for 5 night from 8th September. Reading previous reviews we were worried about coming but due to a last minute decision we fortunately changed our minds. The entrance road is potholed and the ramps quite fierce but if u drive slowly are not a problem. The wardens are lovely and cannot do enough to help. We found a good pitch close to amenities. There is sometimes a smell near the shower block but we pitched away from that. Again, not as bad as other reviews might suggest. The showers were spotlessly clean and very powerful. Stools in there not benches but perfectly adequate. There is so much to see and do in the area. Red wharf bay and rhosneigr gave good opportunity for walking our dogs with handy tea rooms for refreshments acterwards. Snowdonia  on the mainland is easily accessible with breathtaking scenery. Nothing is too far to travel to on this island, 5 nights did not give us long enough. We will definitely be back. Can't wait.

Not the best site

The site is in a very nice location and the staff are very helpful. BUT the facilities are in serious need of being updated even though they are kept very clean. The main problem with this site is the chemical waste point which makes the hole toilet and shower block smell like you are in a sewer. It is in real urgent need of attention and upgrading to stop this reining what is a fantastic site with great wardens.

Fitmee back again

Stayed prior to Easter 2015 but had to leave early as my sister was unwell. Sadly she passed away 3 weeks later. We revisited with her husband 16th Aug for 6 nights. The men went walking 3 days of the holiday and they have now completed the whole coast of Anglesey some 125 miles or there abouts. The site seemed different without her being with us. However, the same excellent site standards were there. We have done what needed to be done by returning. It will be sometime before we do so again but that is out of choice and no reflection on the site or the wardens. The wardens were lovely when we said we had to leave taking 2 caravans off early. I was disappointed that we lost money because we hadn't given notice. Not quite sure how you are supposed to know you are going to be ill in 2 days time but that is the Caravan Club rules and not the site. I scored 4 * for peace and quite because it was school holidays and obviously there were quite a few children on site. Apart from that all was good. The dog walk is brilliant, mine love it, but I just wish all dog owners would pick up from their dogs. No excuses as two dog bins are supplied and regularly emptied.
