Fantastic Site

This is a beautifully kept site with clean modern facilities. The wardens were very polite friendly and professional. My only issue is that this site needs to review it's dog walking policy. The official dog walk is some distance away from the main site which discourages owners from exercising their dogs in the correct place, instead I had to endure dog owners letting their dogs to foul right outside my caravan window on the grassed area between my pitch and the service area. This needs to be addressed.

Lovely stay

A lovely site, beautifully kept with a great shower block which was very clean. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Site is in a great location for reaching beaches and the coastal path. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be booking this site again.

Wardens

Lovely, clean, well located site but I have never before felt so much like I am back at school - rude, patronising wardens who need to remember that we are supposed to be on holiday, and have paid to be so!!!

Wonderful Stay

First time on Anglesey with our small Motorhome and we stayed for 3 weeks. Anglesey is not only beautiful but extremely Motorhome friendly. We covered most of the Island but still did not have time to see everything (mainly due to some really bad weather). The site itself is wonderful and maintained to the high standards that the Club is renowned for, would definitely stay here again.

My very first experience of a CAMC stay!

  • Im new to touring and new to CAMC, I hadn’t realised there was a rule about not booking in after 5.30 and at the last minute decided to stay overnight on Anglesey after checking in my first post lockdown guests to my holiday cottage. The warden pointed this rule out to me for future reference but then very generously allowed me to check in for the night.
  • On arrival the site entrance is so pretty and beautifully maintained, as is the whole site. The lady warden was lovely, very helpful explaining where everything is and offering me to take my time choosing a pitch. Penros has a good selection of sheltered woodland quiet pitches close to the entrance/wardens and also large open spaces, there’s also a small hill serving pitches with lovely sunset views. The children’s play area is separate keeping the site quite relaxed even over bank holiday. But it was lovely to see so many young children out on scooters and bikes happily playing outdoors in a safe place.
  • The motorhome service point is great as on return back after a day out exploring Anglesey it’s possible to drain, fill up, empty chemical etc all in one area easily pulled into. Fabulous for a newbie and the wardens kindly saw me over the grid as I missed it a few times. Fortunately for me the wardens are lovely and friendly with good sense of humour. Non of the other facilities were open but they looked immaculate as is the whole site.
  • Wardens are very discretely busy on site all day, gardening and maintaining the grounds and having a check around, making it have an overall safe feeling. One man had very rudely parked his car and deckchairs on another pitch bank holiday Friday and it didn’t go unnoticed by the warden 👍
  • The site is surrounded by pretty paths and lanes through countryside and has a wonderful enclosed dog walk area, carefully mown paths meander through a large natural field with a bench facing a beautiful view, perfect for owner and puppy to have some free time playing and sniffing off lead 😃
  • I had only initially intended staying for one night at Penros but as the days went on it was so relaxing, there’s no road noise only birds, I think in total I had almost two weeks stay and thoroughly enjoyed returning to the sunset views from my pitch at the end of the day and waking to the dawn chorus! Perfect stay thank you to the wardens x

Fabulous stay

Penrhos was our 1st stay ever with our new motorhome and we were not dissapointed. I was greeted by name when i checked in which i thought was lovely by very friendly and welcoming and helpful hosts. We chose our pitch and set ourselves up which with the services readily available. The site was spotless peaceful with stunning views. The toilet/ shower block was spotless and very modern and warm. We didnt use the other facilities but im presuming they were equally as clean. Tv reception was very good. Also on site there was field for exercising your dog which i thought was brilliant and there were dog waste bins around the site very well thought about. We had a very quiet and peaceful stay and the weather was with us too with the bright strong sunshine you wouldnt really associate with mid October. Definitely a place to stay, we will certainly stay here again. Thankyou for a wonderful 1st stay.

Most enjoyable stay

Having read some of the not so good reviews about this this site and the Warden's attitudes I must confess that I was a bit concerned about visiting the site. How wrong we were. We had travelled from Stoke on Trent and stopped on the A55 near Bangor for 20 minutes to ensure we did not arrive early. This is my 6th holiday in 2020 and I know how much extra work the wardens have to put in to sanitize everything prior to the arriving visitors. The site approach off the main road is up a slight incline and is very narrow with only room for 1 way traffic. The grass verges are beautifully maintained with painted white rocks to stop the grass being ploughed up. The entrance into the site is also narrow, there is not the room to install barriers and no room for anyone to turn around. I can fully understand why the wardens are strict in this regard. We arrived at 1.05pm and was greeted by a very friendly warden who explained the covid rules for the site whilst we waited to book in. The lady warden in the office had noted our Reg No and knew who my wife was when she went in to book. This was a nice touch as it had never happened to us before. We found the site to be clean and tidy and the mower was in use every day keeping the grass down. The new toilet was spotless, you could eat your dinner off the floor. The dog walk was brilliant, it is a fenced field next to the road. Grass lanes had been cut through the field creating many paths for the dog to enjoy. There is only one waste disposal point on site by the toilet block. This is not surprising as a septic tank is used on site. The pitches are nicely spaced out around the site. The view from the top of the drive is to die for, you can see the whole of Snowdonia spread through 180 degrees in front of you. We stayed for 4 most enjoyable nights, the wardens always spoke to us when we passed them. This site is in a beautiful part of the world and we have already booked again in 2021.

An Enjoyable Stay

We unfortunately had a problem with our caravan on our journey from Somerset, our caravan arrived on site on a low-loader. The staff were very helpful at this stressful time. They recommended a mobile mechanic, who ,thank goodness, could carry out the repair on site. We had to change our plans and extend our stay. All four wardens were extremely helpful. This is a lovely site, with excellent facilities. Anglesey is a beautiful place to explore and this is an ideal site to do if from.
