Enjoyable stay

We stayed at Penrhos for the two weeks beginning the 15th August 2020 when the site first opened. This is a great site for visiting Anglesey. The new toilet block is great and modern - in terms of the wrist band system that is in operation (I assume for all sites) it seemed quite strange that only three toilets and three showers were available to use in the ladies. two for mens i.e you potentially had to walk into a cubicle someone had just walked out of to use the shower etc. I didn't feel that comfortable with that aspect due to being in a small place with the current pandemic. We were really pleased the site had managed to open following the work and I didn't really notice any weeds etc but the major bug bear I have is that the grass is kept too long. It was like this on arrival and during all of our stay. I noticed the warden cut the grass but didn't notice the length change! I've noticed this issue on other club sites so maybe the CMC could address this. You feel like you are walking through an overgrown field to get to the park and some pitches that are offset from the road. One thing that disappointed me on site was that other members, young and old felt the need to drive quite fast around the site. It was school holidays and young children were out on bikes and it felt quite dangerous. Then they slowed right down for the speed bumps! We were on site during Storm Erin and Storm Francis. There were several people who felt they needed to move their cars to help protect their awnings etc and the wardens seemed very accommodating to this which was good. I was pleased to see the wardens operating a strict no arrivals prior to 1pm. I hope this is the new norm at CMC sites. Its annoying that some people want to arrive before the permitted time. Overall, this is a lovely site for families and couples. I have been several times over a ten year period, with and without children. You can sometimes hear children playing on the site next door. Penrhos is great for accessing the beaches at Benllech and LLigwy (thank to the lady warden for recommending LLigwy to us).
