Very nice indeed

This was my first stay at Ramslade. It really is a perfect location. I pitched on the grassy part up the hill with a lovely view of the Devon countryside. I did have a walk around the hard standing part and I think I made the right decision, no nice views there. The site wasn't full and I didn't have any close neighbours. It was perfect. What I did like was the fact that the toilets and showers were in separate areas of the block, and piped music...very nice to sing along to in whichever side of the block you were in! The staff were lovely, even knowing my name after a few days...nice touch! Facilities always clean but I was a tad disappointed with the information room. There wasn't a lot to be gleaned from there. I did walk into Stoke Gabriel. Nice walk but not a lot there, disappointing...The road in is as others have described, you have to hold your breath and hope for the best! I managed ok without major issues but for a tiny road it is busy..The dog walk was superb, beautifully kept and massive. My hound had a whale of a time. The kids playground is equally as massive. Sainsburys and Asda very close by. Morrisons a little further. I found Sainsburys to have the cheapest fuel around. Loads of National Trust places to visit, so didn't need much spending money. But every car park in Torbay is a pay and display. I went to Cockington and it was only on my way out I saw spaces on the road for parking which is free. So try that first before paying.
