Lovely small site
We used this site to stop one night on the way up the Kielder Water as it is so near the A1 and very convenient. That said the site deserved more time to be spent there as the views over the valley is superb and the local towns all worth seeing, Richmond in particular. The Wardens allow you the freedom to park nose in so you get the option of the super view
Facilities are very clean but in need of a revamp but don't let that stop you going (oldish but very clean).
Whilst the A66 is nearby it didn't affect us at all.
We will be back for a longer stay.
Delightful surprise
Despite being only a small site it has lots of charm and is well placed for all manner of activities. The pitches are a good size but some are on a bit of a slope so take wooden blocks with you. There are lovely views of the surrounding hills. Whilst some traffic noise can be heard from the nearby A66 it didn't prevent us from sleeping soundly.
The relief wardens were a joy and had us laughing in no time.
We will certainly be returning.
Great base
Lovely site very clean, peaceful & quiet. Wardens very friendly & helpful.
A great base for the beautiful Yorkshire dales, Northumberland & Cumbria. Will definitely be back. Stopped here for 4 nights after abandoning our holiday in nth. Leadaig Oban due to awful weather on East Coast of Scotland. This site certainly made up for our disappointment .
Lovely place to break up our journey
My husband, two young kids and I regularly travel from Glasgow to Norwich and this site was the ideal spot to break up our return journey home.
The facilities were spotless (as we have come to expect from all Caravan Club sites), the views were just gorgeous and the warm welcome from the warden was just what we needed after a long drive. We didn't notice any road noise when we stayed here - we had a pitch in the middle of the site. On our next visit, we will definitely make time for a trip to the nearby farm shop for breakfast!
Views to die for.
We made two overnight stops on our way to and from Northumberland. Both sets of wardens were very helpful and made us feel welcome. The facilities were clean and the site itself was beautifully kept. The views are magnificent.
The only downside is the road next to the site is very busy most of the time. I would like to book a longer stay, but only if I could reserve a pitch at the opposite end of the site to the road.
Site good for a short stay
We enjoyed our three day stay at this site. Ideal for visiting Richmond. Good but infrequent bus service direct from site which we used, but does not operate on Sunday. Used our free bus pass! Not ideal for walks from the site, a very steep hill without pavements for three quarters of a mile to the nearest village and excellent walks.

Saturday night fever
What a lovely site. We stayed for only one night but found the welcome warm, spotlessly clean fantastic location would highly recommend, although if your up against the A66 it is a little noisy
Been many times now
A local site for us, about 45 mins away, this time was to try out a new van for 3 nights. The site is always well kept & toilet block clean. It is a prime site for people travelling to have an overnight stay as A1 is only 1 mile away. Plenty to do nearby, Richmond is lovely, and some nice drives out. For motorhomers there is a bus stop right outside the site entrance.
