First ever trip

We picked Hargill House for our first ever caravanning trip as it's right off the A66 and no country roads to encounter! We'd hoped for hardstanding but there weren't any left by the time we arrived - so we chose a grass pitch (no. 4) right next to the A66. We were a bit apprehensive about the traffic noise as it is constant even through the night - but by the second day we'd gotten used to it and it didn't trouble us. The grass pitch did have quite a slope so you will need chocks etc. to get level - but lovely south facing views once you're sorted. The toilet, shower and dishwashing facilities were immaculate and the bins and chemical toilet point were always clean and tidy. The whole site was extremely well maintained and I can understand the wardens being protective where it comes to driving all over the grass - they should be proud of their hard work. All four wardens were friendly and helpful on arrival - and Colin especially came to our rescue when our electric cable stopped working. We felt like we were in safe hands, given lots of advice and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
