First time visiting this site. Arrived early evening and the very helpful and friendly warden told us the only pitch free that wasn't next to the road was a grass pitch in the centre of the site. Pitched fine but very sloping, as are many of the pitches. Even from the middle of the site the road noise was constant, not particularly intrusive but constant however I would imagine the pitches at the top of the site adjacent to the A66 would really struggle with it. Facilities were first class, spotless and the site in general was extremely well kept. A 5-10 minute drive takes you into Richmond which is lovely. We would return to this site but only for a stopover or if we could guarantee a pitch at the bottom of the site.
