A lovely site with friendly wardens

We stayed here briefly (two days and one night) in order to test out our newly acquired campervan and we loved it. The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful at all times and the facilities and site were immaculate. We will definitely return soon. The surrounding area is quiet (which suits us) and there are plently of local walks (long and short) from the site. It is also ideally placed for exploring Northumberland's many attractions, or even the Scottish Borders for longer days out.

Beautiful quiet campsite, lots of facilities, and cheerful helpful wardens

We have stayed here several times including three this year already, with our most recent one being 17th August. All of our stays have been great. The facilities were very clean, and the site is always tidy. The pitches are well spaced out. Unless you are on a serviced pitch, you really do need to make sure of bringing a long [25 meters] hook up as one bollard is frequently shared between several outfits. There are good dog walk areas. The garage on the main road [.6 mile walk] stocks a small but adequate range including the papers, milk etc. We look forward to our next stay in a couple of weeks.

One of the best club sites

Our first time here and it did not disappoint. Firstly the wardens were outstanding and very worked hard to keep the site so well maintained. The site itself is well spaced out and I liked the balance of mowed and non mowed areas, and it also has a great nature walk to the lake. Also lots of little interesting features about. The pitches, SP and HS, are the widest I've seen on any club site, and the facilities block is an outstanding example of what one should be like and of course it was spotless. There is a large Londis supermarket/petrol station very nearby. Further out is the whole of the Northumbrian coast and you can find beaches where you can park your car (smaller MHs too, larger MHs have their own area) at the beach itself like Alnmouth and Boulmer, while there are the larger towns like Seahouses with sea trips. Holy Island is certainly worth a visit too - but check tide times. For relaxing it's a great quiet site too and it is very popular, and deservingly so.

Perfect - two road cycling suggestions

I have stayed here many times since 2010. I have described this as a perfect site in a perfect position, with perfect site managers (Craig and Jo). I take advantage of this site for road cycling and also running (mostly trail). The purpose of this review is to supply details of two road cycling routes, both of which I cycle (sometimes with variations - they can easily be shortened or lengthened) on most visits: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/26147143 https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/282271207 Both can be downloaded to a garmin. Both are undulating so require a degree of fitness - less required if using an e-bike (which I have never ridden, so I can't really comment). I hope someone finds one or both of these worthwhile.

Beautiful site with easy access

Im just back after a week here and had a great time. The site was well maintained and the warden's friendly and helpful. Even the other campers and caravaners were friendly and welcoming which has not always been my experience in the past. Beautiful scenery around the site and easy access to towns of Wooler and Alnwick if you wanted to get out and about. We walked over to Ingram Cafe using one of the printed maps in the information room. (Unfortunately the cafe was closed the day we went, should have checked beforehand lol. ) Spotted two Adders while on site, one on the site and one on the nature walk and lots of baby toads during my visit so wildlife was in abundance. The dog swam in the river everyday and he loved it. Would definitely recommend. We will be back.

River Breamish

Just had 14 nights at this site. Would definitely recommend. Reason I gave one star for families is because when we were there it was very quiet. Practically all older people like ourselves. The facilities were excellent. A lovely walk round lakes just down the road and can regularly see adders! Bamburgh castle is well worth a visit and one of the highlights for us was the puffin boat trip from sea houses

A gem of a site

What a fantastic site. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Jo the warden and filled in on how to pitch and the local area. We had a service pitch so we did not visit the facilities but if they were as well looked after as the rest of the site I’m sure they were great. The wardens on this site do a fantastic job of keeping it tidy. It is a very quiet site located next to an amazing nature reserve where you will not be disappointed with the wild life the site also has a great dog walk a mini reserve init self. I can’t say if the site is suitable for children as we don’t have any and there was none on site when we stayed but one thing to bear in mind if you do have children is that there is no playground but the area has so much to offer you are within easy distance of the coast and NT sites. And nature is on the door step. On Monday’s a fish and chip van comes to site it’s £10 per portion but it’s a good size and lovely. We will definitely visit again and thank you to Jo and Craig for a lovely well kept site it’s a credit to the club

Beautiful quiet site

First stay at Breamish after caravanning for the first time in ten years. A power cut when we arrived was a bit challenging but the wardens were really helpful. Beautiful site with excellent dog walk. Toilet block was immaculate and a decent size with a ‘spare’ toilet outside while the main was closed for cleaning. Ideal if you want a quiet away from it all rest.

AMAZING CAMPSITE

Stayed 4 nights from 14 May 24, welcomed by Jo on arrival who was very friendly. The site spaces are a great size, plenty space between each other. We used the toilet/showering & dish washing areas, they were always immaculate. The surrounding areas are beautiful, plenty places to visit and campsite was a perfect base. Everyone that we spoke to staying on the site had the same positive comments about this lovely site. We will definitely return. The stand in wardens Gordon & Chris were very helpful & friendly to.
