Excellent site in perfect location

We stayed for 3 nights this week and really enjoyed our stay. Our pitch was allocated and when we arrived the warden explained where things were etc. There are lovely views and hedges behind all the pitches. Social distancing was good on site with way in and way out for the bins. There are several water points/bins so it's not far to walk to one. The pitches are all large and pretty much level however on the fully serviced pitches the post for the electricity and water aren't in the best of positions once you have pitched your unit on the corner post. We just managed to plug in our water hose but it had to go diagonally underneath the caravan to do so. You might find you are unable to use the on-pitch water without an extra long/additional water hose. Waste (on our pitch - No 46) was in a good position though. We had no need for the digital TV point as reception was good on the caravan aerial. The site is in a perfect location just 5/10 minutes walk into town where there are a selection of restaurants, bars and cafes as well as a Londis and Spar and newsagents as well as several outdoor clothing stores and gift shops. Newspapers could be ordered from the site reception and collected after 8:30am which was really useful. Whilst there isn't a dog walk on site you only have to walk to the end of the site and through the gate to a lovely walk along the river. If you go to the left you get to the town by the train station and if you go right you can do a lovely 25ish minute circular walk along the river bank and around the 9 hole golf course - the path comes back to a gate next to reception. One point worth mentioning is that the railway line does go past the site and you do hear the trains going past during the day but they are only every few hours and it wasn't an issue for us and certainly hasn't caused me to give it less than 5* for peace and quiet. The site is easy to get to and well sign-posted. I've only given it 3* for families as there is no play area. There is a lovely walk directly from the town behind St Mary's Church which goes up to and around Llyn Elsi. It is a VERY strenuous climb for the first kilometre but well worth it when you get to the top and see the views. We didn't walk around the lake this time but no doubt will on our next visit. Such a shame they were having to close because of the lockdown in Conwy the day we were leaving but we will definitely be back next year.
