A bit cramped, but convenient as a stop off point for a night
We were on our way from Somerset to Cumbria, and this site is ideally placed just off the M6 as an overnight stop. That's it.
However, I wouldn't want to stay more than one night. I know it is possible to visit Jodrell Bank/Tatton Park/Little Moreton Hall etc from the site - so long as you have transport - but with a motorhome it is a little less attractive.
The pitches are very close together and are barely long enough for our motorhome (7.2m) and if you have a caravan, the car needs to be parked on the little patch of grass leaving very little amenity space. I assume there are bigger pitches for awnings, but couldn't say for sure.
Staff not particularly communicative. Sent us to a pitch with a broken hook up she 'forgot' to mention and thought what ... that we would work out for ourselves that we'd have to crawl through a hedge in order to reach another power point on a building site adjacent - yes, despite being cramped, there are more spaces going in!
I did manage to catch her just before the reception closed for the night, and the lady was very apologetic, eventually, and promised us a credit for the night, which sadly we haven't seen.
