Brilliant site for visiting Salisbury and surrounding areas

This is an excellent site and both sets of wardens (Lisa and Dave; Claire and Trevor) worked very hard to keep the site maintained to a very high standard whilst giving holiday makers a very warm reception. COVID 19 safety arrangements are really good and we would be very happy to stay at Salisbury Hillside again. We chose a lovely large pitch in a sheltered wooded glade without too much shade. Dog walk is a public footpath. (Leads eventually to a busy A road). The site directory indicates that this is a good site for walking and cycling. Unfortunately you need a car to find places to go to, in order to do these activities. Plenty of things to do and visit with a motor vehicle. Suggestions for local walks are Danebury Hill Fort and Bentley Wood, both easily accessible by car. Also worth visiting are Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and Old Sarum. Would recommend the Lord Nelson at Winterslow and the White Hart at Stockbridge for food. We had a great stay.
