Well kept site

1st time on this site and it was the 1st day of opening after lockdown, very impressed with the system that was in place in regards to covid 19,although some people seem to disregard the measures in place, maybe they can't count the 2 rubber bands outside the toilet to inform that they are full?.lovely well kept site with lovely chatty wardens, i think £32 per night is a little bit expensive but we really enjoyed our stay.full marks to the wardens for a lovely well kept site.hopefully we'll return soon.

Lovely site, but needs updating

Stayed for three nights during half term. Site was very quiet, because it wasn’t half term for some. The facilities are starting to feel very dated and one of the toilets was permanently flooded the whole time we were there. Feel this site is getting expensive. Three nights for just over £85, then checked the following week, which was still half term for the majority was just over £70. Wish I knew how they justify that. Think it’s might be a while before we stay there’s again. ,

Great final stay of the year

A big thanks to the wardens for making our last trip out of 2019 a lovely stay. They put on a little halloween party doughnut eating, apple bobbing, fancy dress and pumpkin prizes they were great fun. Plus a fab new playground too fun for the kids (and adults we had to check how fast the slides were to make sure they were safe!!!!) Lovely and clean as always. Dogs love the dog walk nice size where they can have a good run around. East Ayton chippy is really nice cooked fresh to order but def worth it. Roll on next years stay.

Lovely site on many levels 😀😀🐶

First time visiting here and found the site well kept and lovely and clean. It is more or less on 3 different levels with a one way system to drive round it and quite narrow roads and some pitches could be a bit tight getting on and off but plenty to choose from. The dog walk is brilliant and although we no longer travel with children the sites big play frame with slides etc looked brilliant. There was also table tennis, boules snooker etc for the kids to play. The Forge Valley Inn just down the hill served lovely food and dogs are allowed in the bar. Monday night is pizza night only but they were absolutely delicious plus if you show your Caravan Club membership card you get a 10% discount on the bill. Highly recommended. Our only downside would be that the toilet blocks, although very clean and well kept, need updating. Shower cubicles very small and the floor is soaked after your showers when trying to get dressed. Overall though the site is one to visit and we will return.

Lovely Time - October Getaway

We had a lovely time at this super site. Peace and quiet and plenty to see and do from walking to visiting various seaside towns. Lovely staff who keep the facilities clean and tidy even in the inclement weather we had, yes, the toilet block could do with an update and the curtains on the wash sink cubicles -- very 1970's. Plenty of good local pubs and restaurants to visit and with discounts to boot. Thank you Scarborough warden team for a lovely holiday will definitely be back!!

Return autumn visit to a favourite Yorkshire gem...

We have visited this site over a number of years and have never been disappointed. We now have a young dog and the dog area is great. Site staff very welcoming and approachable. Information room has useful ideas for days out. Easy access to local towns and attractions along with the Yorkshire coast. We certainly will be returning. Thanks again for another pleasant stay in September for our autumn break

lovely site

My wife and I visit this site every year (in fact this year twice). The wardens do an excellent job of keeping the site clean and tidy. There are also some lovely walks close by and of course Scarborough, Whitby and Filey within striking distance. The only downside (very minor) is that it is about time the toilet blocks were updated although once again the wardens keep them very clean. An excellent children's play area and dog walk. All in all a lovely site and well worth a visit if you haven't been.

Great Family Site

Our 1st visit to this site in Middle of August with our 2 children and Dog and we had such fabulous weather for the whole 10 days. Beautiful countryside and wonderful views. The site is very clean and tidy and toilet/wash/shower blocks were always kept clean, wardens are extremely friendly and lovely and polite and were always around the site. It has 2 play areas, 1 little park down the bottom which is where we were pitched (145) and another big park/play area and a games room over to the right of the site. Lovely large dog walk area which you could walk through the gate and turn right and it would take you into the West Ayton Castle field with cattle. Site has a Fish and Chip van which comes on Wednesdays and Fridays which was very tasty and parks near the large park/play area. Very close to all areas, lots of farms/tea rooms to visit and close to Scarborough beach which was very nice and had lots to entertain children/adults and very good for crabbing in the rock pools. Spar Shop was only down the road within petrol station and a post office. The only issue we had was that with a very long twin axle caravan it was a little difficult to manoeuvre around the tight bend at top by the gate, so may have been easier for 1 of us to walk around 1st in front to find a pitch to save driving around again, but all ended well. We have already rebooked this site again for next year as we all throughly loved it.

The Best Club Site We Have Visited Yet

Visited site in August 2019 and the weather had not been nice, until we got here and then weather became hot and sunny. The site was easy to get to and accessing was good, no narrow lanes etc. Booking in was quick and easy we just needed to find ourselves a pitch and let reception know the number so we could get the corresponding gate fob. I said I wanted a grass pitch (the site has them) as we find it VERY difficult to get the awning pegs into club site hardstanding. We were told as we were only there for 4 nights we could have an awning on grass. Found lovely pitch and set up. Back to reception to get fob and told that if we were using a groundsheet we would need to lift it each day, no we were not but did have bedroom compartment, yes we would need to lift this each day! As had rained, true, and grass was quite wet (and in some places it was - further done the site). Thoroughly enjoyed stay and the toilets. showers etc were of the high standard that goes with club sites. Scarborough town was lovely and Spar shop short distance away. Did have an "August Fest" at the local pub which meant you got music most of Sunday whether you wanted it or not - would have been nice to have known in advance (say, when booking in) as we would have gone out on the Sunday and stayed at the 'van and relaxed on the Monday (home Tuesday). All in all a very good site and the best one we have stayed on to date but due to the difficulty of getting pegs in I think we'll go back to CLs.
