My wife, myself and some friends have just returned from The Seacroft site where we celebrated New Year’s Eve. The site was as one would expect a club site to be - very clean and well maintained. We attended the New Year’s Eve party, in The Wanderer Complex, and were very very impressed by the quality and quantity of food available on the buffet, in fact we have paid considerably more and got far less at local hotels in the past. The evening was slightly marred by a power failure in the local area but the wardens, the assistant wardens and all of the staff acted very professionally and kept us all informed as to what was going on and when we might expect normal service to resume. During the power outage there was good banter between all in attendance and all of the staff worked very hard to ensure that everyone had a drink and were enjoying themselves. The buffet was brought forward, a credit to the catering staff and with torches and candles everyone tucked in. The evening turned out to be a fantastic night with the staff joining in at midnight to bring in the new year. When we tried to book for this year we were told that there was already a waiting list - so here’s hoping for some cancellations. One of our friends was celebrating their birthday, a couple of days early, and again the wardens and staff went out of their way to ensure that she celebrated in style. A fun quiz was held on the 2nd January hosted by the Warden which included questions which gave rise to relevant information promoting the club and its facilities, is there no limit to her talents? Once again please pass our thanks and appreciation on to all of the staff involved in making this a night to remember. With greatful thanks, we will be back.
