Smashing site and we would definitely return. We stayed for four peaceful and relaxing nights. Throughout our visit we didn’t hear a sound from the nearby trading estate. In fact all we did hear was constant birdsong. The volunteer wardens. Jan and Steve (I think) were really pleasant and were doing a great job but there is a BUT and this a plea to the club. Please purchase them a power driven mower, preferably a small ride-on. The vintage push along rotary job is not adequate for the amount of cutting required, especially in spring and early summer. I actually felt a bit guilty watching these hard working volunteers slogging up and down in the heat keeping the site looking good for the members.
Walking or cycling on the Downs link path is a pleasure although, mountain bikes and hybrids yes, but not a good surface for road bikes. With an OS map or app you can also put together some excellent circular walks on well signed paths. We found a visit to the Milk Churn Coffee shop at the Brick Works, Lynwick Street, made a good rest stop. Likewise the Red Lyon pub in Slinfold village was a welcoming finishing post. We did find cycling out on the road network a bit harrowing and after just one 20 mile trip we almost needed counselling! It was difficult to put a route together that did not necessitate riding along sections of the extremely busy and narrow A roads in the area. Not for the feint hearted!
Too Good to Share
If we had the choice, we wouldn't share!
Our 3rd visit this year!
Great site, peaceful atmosphere and good location.
Good for walking and cycling, close to village centre with pub and shop.
Short drive to Horsham and train station, site close to local bus service.
No doubt we'll be back...

Great site, if you have the right pitch
Great site right by the Downs Link cycle trail. Good walking from the site, and nice village with pub and shop. The volunteer wardens are great, and look after it all really well
Only one down side, and that is the noise on a weekday morning. We stayed a Saturday and Sunday night in our pop-top VW. All was well until 05.00 Monday morning when activity started at the adjacent industrial unit. Reversing alarms, warning hooters and truck engines. It is noisy.
We do hope to visit again soon. And to pitch at the entrance end of the site

Peaceful stay
I booked this site before reading the reviews. Good job I did as the reviews would've put me off.
We were at Slinfold last Wednesday to Saturday and the only noise we heard was beautiful birdsong.
We enjoyed a quiet and peaceful stay. Many thanks to the volunteer wardens.
OK for insomniacs
The site is well maintained and the wardens are very friendly. It is spoilt however by the noise which guarantees a lack of sleep.
We were first woken at 2.45am by the local farmer driving his noisy quad bike along the track which runs just a few yards from the back of our pitch. At 5am the local industrial unit came to life. Crash, bang, wallop - like they were dropping loads of corrugated iron from a great height. Fork trucks to and fro, reversing horns at full blast and heavy trucks coming and going. Quad bike man returned for a couple more passes at 5.30 and 6.30 to add to the din.
Sadly this will be our first and last visit to this site. No fault of the site staff as there is nothing they can do about it.
First Visit
This was our first visit to a Volunteer run site. It was their last week open and the weather could not have been worse with heavy rain most days. However the wardens worked hard and unlike some conventional sites managed to keep the office open all day! They held a Macmillan Afternoon tea which was even attended by ladies from the village which shows what a good relationship they have built up with the village. It is only a pity that the Club do not value this site enough to make some improvements especially the site road which has become a series of potholes. We hope to visit again and maybe the Club will consider investing some money in the site.
Great for walking
The voluntary wardens do an excellent job and could not be more helpful, assisting new inexperienced members and ensuring that everyone is happy whilst on site.
The site is basic with some noise from the nearby industrial unit which did not effect me personally.
Excellent location for coast and various other places of interest.
A previous reviewer suggested that the bottom gate should be locked overnight, I am an early riser to walk the dog so I don't really think it is reasonable to inflict another late night and early morning job on the wardens.

Good site but..
Stay here for three nights to 20/9/19. Clean well presented site with friendly volunteer wardens. Pitches are allocated which is unusually for a club site. We booked this site due to its proximity to the Downs Link, we used this each day to cycle and its great, went as far as Cranleigh to the north and just east of Horsham to the south. As mentioned by others and as pointed out in the site description there is an industrial unit very near and this can be noisy with the intermittent horn of a reversing fork lift particularly annoying from 6 in the morning. Around us we had three units each with transit type vans, sole male occupants obviously some form of tradesmens who were quite noisy in leaving each morning before 7 and one of them didn’t try to hide his urinating in hedge. There is an access gate at the bottom of the site to the north bound cycle track this is useful but should be locked during the nighttime to afford those pitched at that end of the site better security. Overall a nice site very near a pretty village with an excellent dog friendly pub and at £15 per night good value.
Incredibly friendly staff
We went to the campsite for the first time in the beginning of September on arrival the staff were welcoming you as if you were an old friend. Very happy to help in anyway they could. We found it was a haven tucked away on a lovely walk for your dogs and on a pub run. The pub and village shop were a mere 10 minutes walk away. The pub welcomes your dogs and serve up a very tasty filling meal of an evening reasonably priced too. Will putting it on one of our favourite campsite list.
Peaceful place to be
Stayed for one night on our way home .
Our sort of site, friendly volunteers running the site .
Clean and tidy, plants around, a pride taken.
Lots of walks for the dogs , village shop and pub within walking distance.
Bus service at the end of the lane.
Will visit a lot now .
This is the sites we want , don’t require toilet block, van has it all.
Shame not more of these sites .
Thank you to all the volunteers.
